An indispensable tool!
This is the second one I have purchased, since I dropped and broke the first one!It is a fantastic tool to determine the align your Milling machine spindle with the center of a hole or cylinder. I just finished a major job that would have taken MUCH longer without this tool.JUST DON'T DROP IT!!!

Good coaxial indicator
This is one of several coaxial indicators I have used and it seems good and solid. Be very gentle with this indicator, mine was dropped and it knocked the internals out of alignment rendering it useless.

This tool is junk
I tried to use this thing and the rack and pinion was grinding so the plunger was getting stuck in the up position. Useless 90$ paperweight. Shars is like the Horror freight of machine tools but it should at least work when you get it right?Called Shars and they would take it back and try to repair it but they would have to charge me shipping and the cost of the repair. Really? New out of the box and it doesn't work. Crappy customer service. Dont buy anything from shars. Pay a little more and go to MSC. They stand behind what they sell.

Accurate sturdy unit
Good unit. its a bit longer then I thoughtBut so are the more costly units. I machine cylinder heads on a Bridgeport mill and this is a time saver

Meh. . . .
I had to dissasemble the unit to get it to work properly. Was very stiff as the plunger would not go up and down as it should. Mr. Pete had a video on this unit several years ago, and some other showing how these work and the best way to tune them up.

Bent shaft on indicator.
I contacted the seller about a bent shaft on this indicator after first use. I indicated a piece of round stock on a Bridgeport. Took my first cut on a circular pocket and found the cut off center by a few millimeters. The coaxial indicator was reading right on with the way it works. So I did an inspection of the indicator and found the shaft bent. Contacted the seller several day previously and was told they would get back to me after review. Well they never got back to me, but a replacement did showed up four days after initial contact.
