Loads of Fun
This feeder is wonderful. I like the fact that it is not made of wood. But it's color and look fits in perfectly attached to my weathered split cedar fence. The Squirrels and Chipmunks go "nuts" over this thing. But, I have a few suggestions.(1) the glass jar just sits in a cradle with the neck of the jar fitting through an unthreaded hole in the little house. When the squirrels get inside, it rocks back and forth and end to end. So far it hasn't fallen out of the cradle and it certainly doesn't seem to bother the squirrels, but the manufacturer could thread the inside of the opening that the jar fits into to make it a more stable.(2) the first time I loaded the jar I used peanuts. The squirrels enter, grab a nut, and run to bury the nut somewhere in the forest. The next time I loaded the jar I used sunflower seeds. Hey, peanuts are expensive! The squirrels enter the jar, sit down and gorge themselves leaving the shells inside the jar and the little wooden house with the entry holes on either side. What a mess! Cleaning it out is a chore. The jar can be removed and dumped, but the little house is quite a chore to clean because you have to clean it out through one of three little holes. The last time, I had to drag my shopvac onto the lawn to vacuum it out. I mean, I love my squirrels, but do I love them enough to have to vacuum their house? Perhaps, in the future, the manufacturer could include a little clean out door on one of the two sides or on the bottom of the feeder to make life a little easier.I read another reviewer say he puts ears of corn in the jar. I put fresh cut kernel corn in the jar. Once. Before the corn was fully consumed by the squirrels, the jar was full of some sort of flying insect resembling a mosquito. And we don't have mosquito in Seattle. But, this thing has given me hours of entertainment watching the squirrels and chipmunks run all over this thing. If you want a squirrel feeder, this is it! Look nowhere else.

Good product, but needed a bit of finishing touches
I wanted a squirrel feeder designed only for squirrels and to keep the birds out of the feeder. I've bought several squirrel feeders. The one I had before (also recycled plastic) - the glass jar broke and it measured 3 3/8" and I ordered replacement jars; but none of them fitted, so I had to land up buying a whole new squirrel feeder. I wanted recycled plastic again as the wood rots out in the rain. I had read the prior reviews and saw that that others had noted problems. I especially wanted a feeder that had a small opening on the sides (for squirrels to get into), and all the others advertised had a 4" or more opening. I've had those before, and landed up feeding every bird in the neighborhood as they could easily get in through the larger size hole! With the smaller 3" opening, for some reason the birds are reluctant, so it's really only a squirrel feeder which is what I was looking for. This arrived quickly and in fact, is well made. I had read comments that the jar was loose. Mine was fine and fits snuggly into the round opening, and the end piece of the feeder (green piece), seems to hold the glass jar in place. I also read that some buyers thought the glass jar was poor quality, but it's the same quality jar as every glass jar out there and is sturdy enough. It is nice looking, and I have anchored mine to a wooden shadowbox fence. The only complaints I would have are:1. Not enough information provided on the website to include the size of the side openings.2. No contact information for the seller, so you cannot contact them with questions.3. Would prefer to have a choice of colors, and to have one color rather than the green and the tan.4. One hole at the top is no where near enough to support this whole unit which is about 7 - 8 lbs. There needs to be at least another 2 holes underneath the unit. (I drilled 2 holes at the bottom of the unit and now there are 3 screws holding this unit onto the wood fence.5. There should be some sort of water drainage inside the "housing" itself, so that if rainwater gets inside, it doesn't pond-up or sit there with no drainage. Here again, I got a drill and drilled 5 holes into the housing, so if it rains or I hose-it-down, the water comes out of the holes I drilled. So it needed a bit of extra "TLC" but it's a good product. I hadn't even had it up 10 minutes when the squirrels were already crawling into it. And at least with this one, I know the jar can easily be replaced as it's a standard 3" opening, so those jars are readily available. It's worth the money and an item I'd recommend. (Other manufactures who advertise the same thing on other sites, the 2 round openings are over 4" so it's best to get this one. I had it up and screwed into the fence in a matter of less than 10 minutes! It's a great item - serves the purpose and with the free shipping, you can't beat it.

POOR DESIGN; GLASS JAR IS NOT SECURE AND BREAKS EASILY
I mounted this feeder on a tree far removed from my bird feeders. The squirrels, chipmunks, and occasionally some blue jays enjoyed this feeder. However, the overall design of the feeder is somewhat poor. The glass feeder jar does not fit on the feeder securely and is very fragile. The jar fell off the feeder after having it only for a short time and broke. The one-gallon glass jar that came with this feeder a 3-inch opening, and the opening on the feeder measures 3.75-inches. I have been unable to find a replacement jar for this feeder as most one-gallon glass jars have a 4-inch opening. I suppose "I could take the entire mounted feeder down and enlarge the hole on the feeder into which the glass jar fits." Why should I have to do all of this extra work after purchasing a "ready to use product? Shame on you "Backwards Boys;" maybe all of you should go back to woodworking school.

Wondefully Made
This was a gift to some friends who have quite the squirrel population in their trees. What made me purchase this particular one was that it's not a boring brown, wooden feeder. It's very sturdy with colors that blend in well with the fence it's attached to. It's not heavy either, which I think is a real plus. The squirrels took to it right away, no hesitation whatsoever. They crawl happily into the jar and then move to the top of the feeder to munch on their goodies. I may have to get myself one now.

Squirrels Love It
Have enjoyed watching the squirrels go inside and even climb into the bottle and begin to swirl around trying to get out. Doesn't take them long to figure it out. They always come back.

Nice feeder, fragile glass jar
Glass jar broke after about 5 feelings and am searching for replacement. Feeder is well constructed although the critters are starting to eat it just like they chew the wooden ones. I guess squirrels are not the brightest... Or just will eat anything.

Very deceiving picture and description of product.
Part of the back was busted off when it arrived. Couldn't remove the jar because it was wedged under the top. Looked like you'd have to remove the top every time it needed filling. Returned it for a refund.
