OemNikon EN-EL12 Rechargeable Battery for Nikon Coolpix AW110,AW100, S8200, S9700,S9400, S9500 Digital Camera.

I read through the reviews and saw the range of ratings, but needed new batteries, so I bought a two-pack. I immediately tested the batteries after doing a charge-up. One of them charged really fast, which seemed unusual (my old, nearly depleted, batteries charge really fast). Sure enough, that one did not supply what I thought was a reasonable quantity of power/longevity for a brand new battery. The other tested ok. I did the return and received two new replacements. Both of the replacement tested out great! I was able to run my Coolpix S9050 camera on high resolution movie mode, for two full 29 minute cycles, and part of a third cycle (~14 minutes), before the SD card was full. I then re-formatted the card, and shot flash photos to run the battery out, and was able to do 33 flash photos. This indicated to me that this battery was awesome! So if you don't find acceptable performance when you get these, I suggest doing a return. (but wait for the replacements to come before you send the first shipment back) It seems that companies are willing to have 10% or more defective products go out, rather than maintaining quality control at the factory, that costs more up front. I guess their economic analysis shows they are better off with this strategy.

I don't know what to say except please view the following. Attached are pictures of the battery I received. View them and read the official warning directly at Nikon. Since I'm not allowed to attach a link to the Nikon site, just go to Google and provide the search term of "counterfeit Nikon EN-EL12". Nikon batteries (and other accessories) are widely counterfeited.For some reason the pictures on the Nikon site don't populate properly. Just hover over the icon placeholder for each image, right-click, and choose "open image in new tab".Judge for yourself, yet it's obvious based on Nikon's official warning that these batteries are considered counterfeit. My original OEM Nikon battery looks exactly like the battery that Nikon indicates is OEM.I'm going to try it for the next 30 days to see if shows signs of cheap, inferior Chinese quality (i.e. - poor ability to maintain charge). If I encounter anything less than what I experienced with the original Nikon OEM battery this will be going back to Amazon with my full review.

I am so excited about this camera battery. I recently tried to charge my Nikon and was looking forward to using it to snap pictures of my new pup. When I charged the original battery though my camera didn't work. I was worried my camera was broken! I decided to buy a new battery first to see if that was the issue. The battery came minimally charged. Just enough for me to know my camera wasn't broken which was a huge relief. After charging it fully, my camera works like a charm! I love that this batter is genuine Nikon meaning I know it is Nikon quality. The pervious battery lasted me 7 years, and I hope to get 7 more out of this one. Similarly the price is better than what you can get on Ebay. Originally I searched for the battery there and it was going for $30! Checked Amazon and it was WAY more reasonable.

I have purchased off brand replacements twice in the past. Both times, the recharge failed in short order, while the second replacement the bottom outer case malfunctioned resulting in loss of integrity of the unit. This on top of poor charging times, and ill fit when extracting from the camera.I had enough of the off brand replacements!Purchased the Nikon OEM piece and perfect function and performance. Very pleased !It just reinforces the old adage: ' Buy cheap, buy twice!'.

My Nikon camera was not working and I assumed it was the battery. I have had this camera since 2010 with same battery in it. New battery installed and presto - camera was working again!

Battery arrived in original plastic packaging. I inserted battery into camera without initial charging. Battery went dead after short usage. Charged battery with USB into wall socket. Again, battery went dead soon after. Then charged battery via USB into computer. Camera seems to be holding up so far. Perhaps had bad wall socket?? Waiting now to see how long battery stays charged.

I purchased this battery specifically because that is what my camera initially had and because of the Nikon name. I purchased around Valentine’s Day 2020. I charged the battery overnight. I noticed it did not charge all the way. I used it at my special event, and got to take 10 pictures before I received the “battery exhausted” message. I was really disappointed since my original battery lasted approximately 4 years.Note: I read the reviews, some good and some bad, but decided to give it a shot anyway. Bottom line, I returned the battery immediately with hopes that I get credited for my return. I bought another battery locally with a new charger and it works perfectly.

The original battery that came with the camera lasted several years. After first charging this it was dead by the end of the first day. Six and a half months later it lasts only 1/2 a day. There was nothing on the web site stating these we seconds or somehow defective. Given the comparatively low price I guess I should not be surprised.
