Stimulates the creative side of child's mind
I got this for my daughter who has just turned 7 and has always loved playing with magnets. She already has a few magnetic toys and when I saw this, I thought she would really like it as she really loves playing with such toys. This brings in STEM learning aspect as well so will also help to sharpen her mind in these fields. The goal of the game is to build your own set to get the gravity motor running and then try to score the highest points by knocking down pins. You can play up to 4 players challenging themselves to make goals in turn.I really like this mode because kids can build their own game together and then challenge each other. The satisfaction of having built something together before playing with it is really great and helps to keep the kids engaged and improve their creative skills as well. The construction set includese magnetic parts which helps to make different shapes and also mechanical ones that allow rotations or chain effects that were really new for the kids. They were really excited to learn the different ways in which to use these. The parts are excellent and durable over time as they are made from high quality materials.Overall, this is a really a great toy to stimulate the creative side of the child's mind. It is a bit expensive in my opinion which is why I have taken off 1 star but I would highly recommend it if you can afford it. 4 Stars

Good quality and a much fun, challenging game 5*
Just from the first look and the packaging you can tell that this item is very high quality and very well made. The box that it comes in is quite large and everything is packaged well and safely. There are some different sized pieces, some are very small so bear in mind you don't lose them, otherwise, they will be extremely hard to find. This game is quite challenging and requires some skill. You can build different things with this game, some simpler than others, and some are quite hard for you to really get stuck in.This game requires instructions, which it comes with. They are quite easy to follow, however, you have to pay attention. All the pieces in this game are good quality and not just been simply made. This is a great gift idea!I hope this review helps other people looking for this item or other similar products on Amazon.

Disappointing
Flimsy, easily knocked over and simply not worth the effort or money. A one dimensional toy where you simply repeat the same placing of the balls, no skill required at all. Save your money.

Interesting central premise, decent amount of construction, but ultimately a bit limited
This is a really well made game, produced in Switzerland, with an interesting USP: it includes a turning centrepiece that’s powered by dint of the fact it’s a gravity screw. There are no batteries required to make this moving toy run – it’s powered by the presence of ball bearings on the central, downward pointing gravity screw. There’s a decent amount of construction required to get it up and running – my two older nephews are massive fans of construction toys, such as Lego, so this is solidly in their frame of interest, and then once up and spinning this uses magnetically connected parts to knock over towers positioned around the outside of the setup. Crashing elements are always welcome! The trouble with this set is that it’s quite limited. It uses the gravity screw to do a single, constrained thing with no further application of learning/alternative construction possibilities, so loses appeal quite quickly.

Fun magnetic construction challenge game
If your kids love construction toys but without the fiddly bits, I fully recommend this. This is the Geomag Gravity Mechanics Challenge Strike Building Set, in the box you get 185 individual pieces including ball bearings x 24, a game board, instructions and 160 bits to build up.Once constructed you wonder how this is going to work, well laws if physics and maths put pay to that! The magnets charge up by releasing the ball bearings and build up momentum to knock over the outer pins. You can score with this or just play for fun, reminds me of total wipeout or gladiators! My daughters were both amazed how this worked without any power or batteries. A good lesson of physics sorted!Well recommended for any kids that are bored of the usual construction toys, this is both fun and interesting.

Well Made and Addictive STEM Set
A pretty massive and quality Swiss made set with an impressive 185 pieces: 24 of which are the weighty metal balls and 161 construction pieces. The Geomag brand is a well recognised for quality and durable sets that have a great hand-me-down quality which is more environmentally friendly than the lower quality and thus, cheaper toys. You end up paying a bit more for this, but in the longterm, I've found that the sets we have from this brand, have a lasting quality about them. The concept is this:You load the spheres into the gravity controlled motor once you've built the contraption. The faster you go the more pins you can knock down. Each pin carries a different value so our son competes with his opponents for the highest score. An addictive STEM learning play that gets lots of wear in our competitive home.

Really fiddly to build
This took about an hour of fiddling and cursing to get it built. It comes with lots of pieces which aren’t used in the construction leading to some confusion. Fitting the tiny locking pieces together is hellish and really delicate. There is almost no skill to the game, in some configurations the towers aren’t tall enough to knock over, in others they get knocked over first lap.The motor is fun and there is some opportunity to modify it and use other geomag to adjust it and change the game but overall I don’t think the kids will ever play with it for more than an hour it took to build it. Avoid.
