Lorimer Field Guide to 225 Ontario Birds

I was part of a 21 person field trip to Ontario and I thought this book would be nice to have along. Some of the locations we went to were in the book and offered some advice, which was nice. There were many birds that can only be found in Ontario that weren't even in the book like Gray Jay and some others. The info in the species that were portrayed was nice, but the drawings weren't very accurate for a field guide. I was disappointed in this as a purchase and won't carry it again.

I was disappointed in this as a purchase and won't carry it again.”.I much prefer guides that show quality pictures of the birds rather than poor paintings. In edition, the information provided on each bird was very limited. Not impressed with this book.

Love it! I moved to the Chatham/Kent area in Ontario. Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay are homes to many different types of birds and I want to learn more about them and be able to identify them. As soon as I see one I haven't seen I take a picture and then look it up in the book and tab it so I know I have seen it. It's pretty exciting and they are so beautiful. The book even describes the birds songs. !It has beautiful illustrations and the information is easy to understand. Very happy!My attached picture is of a male Rose- breasted Grosbeak.I did not know that before😀

I love this book on Ontario birds. Very entertaining, colourful and easy to follow. I got this book along with a pair of binoculars for my 5year old granddaughter for her birthday. She loves all animals, and will truly enjoy using this book when bird watching. She’ll be able to find the birds she’s watching by their colours and habits. Very good book for all ages.

what a great book to find a bird that comes to our feeders. I was always wondering what bird it is and now with this book it's easy. It has a really easy bird identification in the front pages based on size. It tells you what page it's on and bingo, there is your bird. Love it!!

Each page has large photos and descriptions. Instead of thousands of birds of North America, this book focuses on Ontario birds and as a birder here, I really appreciate the ease with finding the birds I see outdoors. Each page is packed with easy to read information. A great buy. A great gift!
