ESV Thinline Bible, Red Letter (Buffalo Leather, Deep Brown): Holy Bible, English Standard Version

My 20 year old NASB Bible needed to be retired so I was looking for an ESV bible to replace it with that would last me for years to come. I initially ordered a trutone that was less than $20 and had to return it. The pages were too white so the black ink against it was too stark, I wouldn’t be able to read well. It was also cheaply made, which is kind of obvious for the price.I’m so glad I found this one - it’s a beautiful Bible that seems sturdy enough to last for years but doesn’t break the bank. The cover is a color of deep brown with some purplish undertones. I can see through the writing on the other pages but it doesn’t hurt my eyes since the pages are off white and opaque. Pages are gilded. The 8 or 8.5 text size is very readable but not too large either for my liking. I like that it’s only 1 inch thick and quite light. All in all a great Bible for what I’m looking for - reading and meditation. The fact that it’s light enough will make it easier for me to put in my purse to bring on Sunday worship services.

This isn’t a premium bible. The leather is stiff and feels pretty cheap and the gilding was light and uneven. That said, I love this Bible. I got it to slip in my backpack while traveling and it was expected to get rough use. But it’s turned into my favorite bible. I rolled the cover and really broke it in good. Maybe too much. It’s got creases in the liner that show thru to the outer cover but it’s now floppy and will lay flat/fold backwards for comfortable reading. This is the first ESV bible I’ve owned and I really like it.

This is really a great Bible because it’s the word of our Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus. It’s the perfect size and packs around nicely however, I had to return the first one because it was so dry the binding came apart. Do this first, put a small amount of leather conditioner on it first to loosen up the fibers. Do not soak it in conditioner, just a couple light layers should be enough. Buffalo hide is really tough and will crack and pull the binding loose, so just apply a very thin layer of conditioner, that should do the trick.

I been wanting a leather Bible for some time now but can't quite afford the premium calfskin or goat leather Bibles and found this Buffalo Leather Bible that seems middle of the road premium.**Quality:** Thinline buffalo leather is a great balance of affordability and durability. I affectionally call it the iPhone SE of Bibles. While it might not be "flagship" it's still premium quality.**Readability:** I believe this is a 10point font size, it's not large print but it's not too small either. I probably don't have the best eye sight as most, but I can read it without glasses and probably would be more comfortable reading it with my glasses.**Feel:** Nice in hand, with good grip. Did I mention it's buffalo leather! I love the feel of it.**Size:** Portable, easy to carry and easy to place in a bookbag.**Color:** Deep brown with gold-like engraving adds a touch of elegance.**Value:** Great quality for the price, especially compared to trutone or bonded leather. Bought it for $50 on sale compared to the standard $79.99.So in conclusion, I love this Bible and I really appreciate the quality for the price point it's at right now. Not to mention it's the ESV which is a solid translation and I think they produced a solid Bible here.The reason why it's not 5 starts is because there is only one ribbon. Not a big deal, but would be nice if they had more than one ribbon.

This Bible is really nice

The media could not be loaded. Says Holy bible on the side, red letters, string bookmark included, good size, all nice. The only thing is the print is kind of small.. but still readable.

If you have never owned a premium bible you will enjoy this. It's much better than fake leather or anything like that. I wanted a premium bible for everyday carry and not to be scared to bring it with me because of the price tag. I own a schuyler as well-comparing to that it is not premium but this bible is really nice to use and I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good bible for an affordable option.I wouldn't recommend at full reg price but for the sale price it's good. 👍

Even the lower tier genuine leather is better than the buffalo leather. Pages were folded inside and feels cheap. Also the product came without seal? Not sure if crossway stopped sealing or the one I received was a returned product to amazon.

ESV thinline. Can’t go wrong. Great bible. Easy to read and understand. The leather feels a little firm but I think it’ll soften up really nicely with more use. I’ve loved using this bible so far. Pages aren’t too thin and aren’t too thick. It’s great. Feels like I’ll have this bible for a long long time.
