So Far.... So Good.... I'm confident it will last at least a year, if not more
I had a COBY brand that lasted just over a year, then last week - the earplug receptor/plug-in just wore out. I bought this unit because it has all of the same features as my old one, it was cheap, and I got Amazon Prime Shipping. I read reviews by others and found answers to all or my questions. This is going to work PERFECT for me (I listen to radio all day long at work). For those who complain about the quality of sound,... ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS REPLACE THE EARBUDS! I have several pair of SONY earbuds, even cheap ones, and they are much better than those sent with the MP3 Player. For the money....., you just cannot beat it. Just hope that I get a year's worth of use out of this one. I bought a 20-pack of Amazon AAA Batteries (I HIGHLY recommend Amazon Batteries, ANY SIZE), so I have a bunch of those batteries going forward. Oh yeah.... To turn the unit on, just push directly down on the toggle switch in the upper-side corner for a couple of seconds. Seriously, they didn't include this in the instruction manual and I had to google it.

I LOVE THIS LITTLY GUY!
OK, I ordered one of these years ago and LOVED it. It has good sound but most of all it is USER friendly. I have had just about every type of MP3, MP4, IPOD etc. but always feel a bit irritated on how difficult they are to figure out how to use. This little guy works exactly like you would think it should. You don't have to have a seperate cord to download your songs, simply pull the end plate of and place it in your USB port. Turn on by one button, turn off by the same button volume has its own button etc. You don't have to read lengthy directions or take a class to figure it our it is basic and to the point. I LOVE THIS THING!!! I have about 8 other very high dollar devices but tear my house up looking for THIS one. I plan on ordering about 3 more so I can keep one in my car, one upstairs, one down stairs and one in my Ranger. Also you don't have to charge it like the others (when ever I wanted to use them they would have no charge left). This one takes a small battery and since I have had it It still shows a full charge (have had it 6 months now).

It works once you know the secret....
For the price you just can't go wrong with this purchase. The only reason I gave it only three stars is the aggravation of figuring out how to work the damn thing. The instructions are...well...for another model maybe? NOTE: The mode rocker is the key to making this gadget work! rock it right or left to your selected mode is highlighted (songs, FM radio, system settings etc...). The dirty little secret is that you have to press the mode rocker DOWN to enter the mode you want. Yes, you have to press the rocker -which you thought only went left and right- DOWN. Oh, it might take a few presses until you can enter your selected mode, but once you do, this thing plays great for the price. MP3s sound good and the FM sounds really good. HINT: Once in FM mode, select auto scan and let this player pull in the stations. There! Your done! Hope this review helped. Ecloud ShopUS Blue 8GB 8G USB Flash Drive LCD Mini MP3 Player w/ FM Radio

Could've been perfect...
Once you understand and are comfortable using this device it's pretty hefty of use.I have audiobooks, lectures and mp3 songs on it, all in each separate folder. I have created these folders on my PC and copy & pasted it to the device. I can select any file/folder and it will play in order. You need patience and a little cleverness to operate this small, very lightweight mp3 player. The only fault is the battery compartment. It powers on only x1 AAA battery, so you'll find yourself replacing them a lot.If the manufacturer went with the use of x2 AA batteries this unit would be perfect for my needs. And, I would't mind the extra weight.

8 GB holds all I needed, uses batteries, no need to find a pc to charge it.
Perfect for what I use it for a mix of music and mp3 books (Old and NT Bible). Love it uses a battery, used it on a 12 hour drive (passenger). You MUST read instructions carefully, not the best written. Remember on the toggle you need to push down to access other choices.Make a copy of instructions with enlarge so it's easier to read, and keep a copy. Not very intuitive because they give you lots of options with only 3 buttons.

Nothing to complain about.
Seriously, for the price you can't go wrong. There's a little learning curve, but once you get it you're home free. I hate having to charge something with a USB and use this little beauty while doing landscaping. If I damage it, well, I'm not out much and I can carry an extra battery with me instead of having to take the thing inside to charge.

High battery demand, complicated interface
Good compact size, but interface is complicated and the unit goes through batteries quickly

Sometimes we need a reminder that cheap will end up being expensive... you pay twice.
it worked for about 3 weeks. Today it started getting some electrical (almost static) noise during playing stored music. it still plays fine as a radio (which barely picks up anything) but i cannot use it for my mp3's. I'm disappointed but I should have read other reviews. When you buy cheap, you buy twice.... Im going with a name brand next.
