Wish this was 2 bulb for more lighting, but the body itself is excellent. Frame is not steel, magnet doesn't stick. Probably aluminum? Tings like a metal. Metal finish is very good. Straight and no misshapen parts. It is also glass. Curved glass pieces at this price, surprising. But this will let rain inside. Glass pieces are half caulked but caulking is not for water proofing. To hold the glass. Bottom plate has a hole to drain out water. I think it will be possible to caulk the flat pieces inside and outside to keep most of the water out. Use black silicone. The top is held by 2 screws. Grease the screws. If not, probably will corrode and become impossible to open. I assume the socket will work. I chose this for all around open faces. Because this is on a pole, lights with closed bottom casts a shadow on a walkway.edit: It is aluminum. Scratched off little paint and it's shiny. Glass can be confirmed by looking at the cut edge. Plastic won't stay clear for maximum light. I would caulk the bottom edge at least. The fixture has a drain hole but may become plugged quickly-spiders.

I used this to replace a 30 year old post lamp. The old worked fine. The only problem with it, the fixture was not tall enough to handle the newer LEDlight bulbs. This is not only good looking, but tall enough to handle the newer LED bulbs. I'm using a 100 watt equivalent LED buld made by Phillipsthat consumes 14.5 watts of power. The light coming out of this fixture looks great at night. It kind of looks like a mini light house.

I purchased three of the large lights. They arrived in good shape and well packed. Unlike some of the others, I found no flaws in the finish or in the wiring. These are big and heavy cast pieces. Be very careful you buy the appropriate size for the place you intend to install the lights. If you have wooden siding, make sure the mount is sturdy. With the overlapping siding on our house it was necessary to shim the bottom of the mounting plates about 3/4" so the fixture would hang plumb to the house.I have to stretch to find a con. They came packed in cardboard boxes with a form fitting white foam liner. This stuff is just awful. It breaks if you put the slightest pressure on the foam and leave tiny particles of foam that are so electrostatically charged, the only way to remove them is with a vacuum.. It's messy.I did a good deal of shopping before this purchase. This is a very great price for the size.of the fixture.

I was looking for a new outdoor lighting and saw the Nuvo Boxwood one light for an outdoor covered porch. Of the the 3 lights I purchased, this one was the lowest in price so I was a little concerned. However, it arrived unbroken and was easy for our electrician to install. Hopefully it will hold up. The glass is beveled and sparkles. The bottom is open so it is easy to change out the bulb unlike the one we had before. This is UL listed for damp not wet locations and as such it is perfect where it was placed.

I had to reorder because the first one was shattered. The replacement arrived in under a week in great shape, was easily installed - less than 15 minutes - and looks beautiful on the front porch. There was plenty of chain for higher ceilings and the light bulb is super easy to change, no reaching over the top or unscrewing anything. Great purchase for the price.

This was a purchase for my mom, and she's happy so everyone's happy. Inside, it didn't look quite bright white, but outside it matches the post just fine. Keep in mind, the clear part is not glass, but plastic. Easy to install; two non-electrically inclined ladies installed it without electrocuting ourselves so it was a good day. :)

This relaced a post light that was damaged in one of our New England storms. It was installed within 15 minutes and I just love it. The quality is good and the beveled plastic distributes the light very well. It has a strong colonial look for both day and night.Totally satified with the price as well. There is no comparison to those in local electric suppliers.

Picked up 3 off these lamps for my light post. First of all, light posts are completely enclosed. Since we purchased these lights, they have gone up in price and for what we paid, these were tremendous value. (< thirty). We use a dimmable 60 watt equivalent LED bulb and they are very bright. Installation was good. I have a severe arm pain so I had to do it wth one arm (our other lights were shorting and I was worried about fire as kids kept turning lights on). On the negative side, the bulb in the picture appears to be a little smaller so the lamp appears bigger. So make sure to read the dimensions. Package was a little beat up but the unit was not damanaged. Beautiful piece at a very reasonable price. You can't go wrong with this.

I did a lot of research and shopping around to find this fixture. It was worth the effort! The stylish design and finish of this exterior porch light was just what was hoped for, at a price that was fairly reasonable. Some of the reviewers of previous purchasers noted packaging issues by the shipper. Even though the box that arrived was "none-the-worse-from-the-wear", the form-fitted Styrofoam base and hardy cardboard bracing at the top were effective in protecting the fixture during its journey to our doorstep. The wiring and chain lengths were more than generous for mounting. The clear glass enclosures at the top and sides effectively and efficiently throw light to all corners of the porch from ceiling to corners.

Picked up 4 of these to put around my house and they are beautiful. They are huge which is a big plus because it allows me to use different bulbs. Have help up well in -40 winters still looks brand new.

delivery was fast. Easy to install. Much brighter than our old ones due to the glass on the bottom.

Installed this light in our nursery as it went with our theme of things and matched well with the furniture..

Meet my expectations. Work great. We painted the connecting bolt head black to match the black on the cap that attaches light to ceiling.
