All pods successful
This is my second grow kit from aerogarden and I was pleased to have all of my pods sprout. The basils are thriving and well, and the dill is also producing a lot. The dill does tend to flop over a bit unless I prop the plant up but that might just be a me thing... I will also say that the variety of dill from this kit is a bit different than the one sold in my local kroger so the taste had a few different notes than I was used to, but it is still dill-like and delicious. My parsley plants are also doing well. The chives are struggling a bit. I noticed the root system was less extensive than some of the other pods, so I've trimmed some of the bigger pods' roots in case the root size was impeding on other pods.My mint was slow to start but is picking up nicely. The thyme is veryyy slow growing but that could also be a root issue. All in all, highly satisfied. Though I love the thai basil so much, I might look into getting a full set of pods of just the thai basil!

Of course it's not perfect but it works
I had a garden for a few years now and I have two bunnies that love greens, it's good for then and their teeth and bellies. Anyway since those plants consume a lot of water, I decided to only plant three instead of 7 last time. I was disappointed because some mold appeared really faint, so I used a qtip and rubbing alcohol to kill it. It ce back and one of the plant didn't germinate (I think it was mint?). I threw it away a got another mint to try again. I just let it be this time, and it germinated way later than what is written on the pod. I changed the stone as well thinking it might be why there was mold on the pods. And then they all geinated and grew without an issue whatsoever. So if your pods get a bit of mold and don't seem to grow, just wait! The mold isn't a big deal and might retard germination. It worked really well and it's been over three months, they're still growing strong. I would also not fill all the holes with plants because you'll need to fill the tank out twice a day and they'll die faster. Chives are a bit disappointing in size and mint isn't fragrant but dill is always a champion!

Not all pods work
First, I do love this thing. It's a "set it and forget it" way to fresh herbs.BUT... I have bought a replacement set for my garden and BOTH times (the garden came with pods) the thyme and Thai basil didn't grow. It would start and then die. The GOOD news is that you can add your own seeds to the pods to propagate your own plants, so that's what I did. Got tomatoes and peppers started that way. =)4 stars out of 5 because not all pods grew what it came with.

Not as good as the first batch
I purchased Aerogarden system a couple years ago. The first batch of seeds I grew, went fast and I had a ton of herbs. I decided to grow another batch of herbs so I ordered the Gourmet seed pod kit. I followed the instructions, but I noticed that the herbs took forever to sprout and they really aren't doing well at all. The dill seems to be doing the best. The chives, I think I only have 3 or 4 stems, the basil is barely out of the pod and a couple others have died or didn't sprout. This is after 6 weeks! I suspect either the seeds or the fertilizer are very old and Just not growing. I checked the PH and am running a little under 6. I also am on a well, so no Chlorine in my water. I will reuse the pods and try planting my own herb as this is rather expensive to not have good results.

nothing grew, no replacements sent, left on my own to try again.
I have grown these pods in my Aero garden 2 times before. This batch were all duds. no follow up with customer service after I sent pictures and answered all their questions.I cleaned all and started another batch that I ordered. we will see if this is better.

Great value!
If you love fresh herbs but hate paying the costly price for them at the store... this is for you!I have 3 AeroGarden systems and love them all! Fresh herbs year around is awesome! As you see, it comes packaged perfectly! It's so simple! Put the herbs in the AeroGarden and wait for them to sprout! I personally put the tall herbs (like dill) in the back row. It gives the shorter herbs (like thyme) more room to grow. It's so fun to watch them sprout and eventually harvest! My entire family enjoys watching them grow!

Most of them grow
A good 90% of them will grow but my chives didn’t sprout at all, the basil definitely takes off quick, but I bought a 9 pack even though I only have 6 spaces just in case they don’t all sprout.

A well designed, attractive and functional hydroponic system.
The Aerogarden performed excellently and it's a good value for those that regularly use herbs for cooking. It produces a surprising amount of light, and looks nice and contemporary inn kitchen,Pros: The plants germinated and produced adequately after only 3-4 weeks; the system uses very little power; the system gives timely warnings and tips on the video LED screen.Cons: Some of the minor issues was a seed pod labeled as parleys has grown up to be a tomato plant; the dill quickly grows into the lights and provides little usable herb leaves (90% stem); The basil plants produce primarily flowers after ~65 days (so new ones should be started to replace); the chives should have 2 pods to provide enough product (the loan pod has been trimmed to almost nothing ((2"). The Thyme herb pod never germinated. The nutrient solution with kit lasts about 70 days until empty thus requiring to purchase more. The water reservoir gets very low after 48 hours once the plants are all producing at peak, which is a concern that can be addressed by purchasing a supplementary watering system. You could likely make up your own nutrient solutions and seed for a fraction of the cost buying the Aerogarden ones.

Great, but not if you live in Canada
The system is amazing. However, not all seeds are viable. The company does replace the seeds that are not viable, but not in Canada. Not through Amazon, and their website does not ship to Canada. So, if you are in Canada and buy seeds and, like in my case, they don't grow for some reason, you are helpless.

Easy IF they grow
I wanted to love these so badlyThey’re great for those of us who aren’t big “green thumbs”.Easy as 1…2…3…However after ordering several packs of them, I can safely say that I can predict which ones won’t grow and where to place them in the machine etc. They’re expensive for half or two thirds of them not to grow… If only I could pick and choose which herbs or greens or veggies I’d like to buy?
