Gravity

Whenever I mention to friends that I listen to "flamenco" music when I write, they look at me funny, the imagery of clapping hands, castanets, stomping shoes and twirling dresses immediately popping into their heads. They wonder how that can possibly inspire an action scene or a love scene. What many don't realize is that there are different blends of flamenco, just as there are different nuances in genre fiction. Jesse Cook's GRAVITY has quickly become one of my favorite "go to" CDs. Every piece is filled with romantic, melodic, inspiring flamenco that quickly fills my senses and pulls me down into my creative well more quickly. I listen to this CD every day!

This is the third Jesse Cook album I bought, and I have been listening to it off and on and comparing it to some of his other albums that I recently bought, and I must say, this is some of his finest work. I do like his newer stuff, but if you are looking for something that focuses a little more on nice, smooth guitar with a bit more of his traditional style, this is the album to get. Opening with "Mario Takes A Walk" the album takes us on a journey as Jesse plays through eleven tracks, capping it off with "Luna Llena" one of my favorite of his songs. All in all, this album is a wonderful instrumental piece, flowing from the soul, this is music at it's best. I highly recommend it, especially if you are new to Jesse Cook's music.

This music just makes you want to get up and dance! I was new to Jesse Cook and the Rhumba foundation. Since discovering him on Pandora, I have bought three of his albums. There is something peaceful and stimulating at the same time about his style of flamenco guitar. His playing is balanced, rhythmic, and with superb timing. He has a huge team of percussionists that accompany him. Try watching him on YouTube. I am a new fan, and this album is one of my favorites.

I watch "Mexico, One Plate at a Time" on PBS more for the music than the recipes. I was never able to find anything about the artist(s) but Jesse Cook is either that artist or as close as you can get. I love the energetic Latin flavor of this music. I also love the slowed down tempo and melodic sweet side of his music as well. I am glad to have found it! There is something energizing and relaxing at the same time about his music.

I recently purchased this CD and was blown away by the sounds Jesse makes on the guitar. I love the flamenco sound and Jesse really plays with gusto. I have since purchased more CDs by Jesse and enjoy them as well. Every once in awhile, you run across and artist who knows how to make beautiful sounds. Jesse is one of those artists he makes my driving a lot easier and enjoyable.

This is a delightful CD. I had never heard of Jesse Cook before and just ordered this CD last week. During a party we had on the weekend, numerous guests commented on the music, how much they liked it. Compared to music from Otmar Liebert (album "Nouveau Flamenco"), this CD is as easy on the ear, but a lot more sophisticated in guitar playing technique. Definitely a keeper!

Bought this as a replacement for my sister. Love Jesse cook, very talented.Prompt delivery, good price.Would recommend if you love the sound of the Spanish guitar one of my favourite albums of his.
