Dark Black

Wonderful stories from a wonderful author!
What can I say about Dark Black by Sam Weller. This book is just amazing. I admire writers who are so diverse and can cover everything from horror to punk rock. There's a heavy Bradbury influence (Sam was Ray's biographer) and I'm sure he would of loved this book. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for little worlds to escape into and get lost in something new. The illustrations are also stunning!

Do not recommend.
I am so disappointed with this book. It's just so self indulgent. It's as if the writer is most interested in impressing himself. However his overly wordy descriptions just come across as arrogance and verbosity. Some authors write for the pleasure of the reader and others write for their own pleasure. This was an example of the latter. The stories were, for the most part, cliche. Kids playing with a ouija board? Please. 7 in every 10 american horror stories start with a ouija board. The illustrations were the part of the book I most enjoyed. They were lovely and my decision to frame a few of them was a great excuse to tear this book apart.
