Love his books!
As a mother of 5 boys, I found these books to be "the" Proverbs/father-son kinda talks that I had always hoped my boys would have with older men. They're practical and every age can glean from his lessons and stories. He shares real-life experiences, sometimes making you laugh, sometimes making you shake your head, but all in a way that makes you feel as though your own uncle were talking to you. All of my 4 boys at home are reading a lesson a day from his books. I loved this particular one so much that I even bought another copy from Amazon and had it shipped to my oldest son in the Navy.He also shares scriptures and important ways to apply them to daily living, but he does so in a non-confrontational manner. (This is important I think for teen years when boys sometimes get a little stubborn.)He doesn't sugar coat the truth, but presents it 'in love'. He makes boys and young men THINK - about how they treat their sister- and how they will be as an employee- and how they are accountable to their God.I wish Brother Bob was still with us. I'm thankful that his words are- and that my sons are being blessed by them!

Outstanding!!
I read through this book with my boys (3 of them so far) the summer when they are 12. It really could be read a few years earlier but we have made this a tradition. It is easy to read and really good. I have described it to others like this, "It's like sitting down with a godly grandfather who is passing along things you need to know." The book takes the point of view that the boy reading it is a Christian already. That may or may not be the case. With my boys who were not yet Christians, it gave me to opportunity to point out that they need to repent and trust Jesus as their Lord/King for these things to be true of them. I highly recommend this book.

Superb book! Will be buying more for gifts!
Superb book! I read this book aloud to my four sons (ages 14, 12, 10, and 9), and we all LOVED it. Such great teaching stories and wise advice for young men! Would recommend to anyone trying to prepare their arrows for launching into adulthood.

What does Godly behavior look like from the eyes of a boy
I bought this for my 8 year old son to read as a daily devotional and discussion. The chapters are brief, the questions are appropriate, and the exercise of reading and thinking about the topic has helped my son really look into his faith and actions. We now joke about "Did you take care of your chickens today?" when it comes to reminding him of his chores and responsibilities. He's beginning to see that he really is a man in a boy's body, so what kind of man does God want him to be? What does Godly behavior look like from the eyes of a boy? Great stuff and some amazing, perceptive conversations have come from our daily devotions.

Wisdom for boys
Wisdom, honor, respect, patience, sense of integrity.... great book to encourage strong character with relatable stories/examples. The author is a carpenter and the examples are filled with real life situations that stretch him to be a man of honor. Old fashioned values. A nice book for fathers (or mothers) to read with sons. Maybe age 11-14. Worth every penny. Best boys devotional ever. Author has several more, too. :)

The stories were perfect for our family devotions
The stories were perfect for our family devotions. They are humorous and kept the attention of the children ages 7-17. We love the way Schultz makes his stories so visual in the kids minds. The story of a hoarder saving dirty diapers always carrying a back pack full around with him catches their attention only to find out those nasty diapers are the same as saving all those wrongs that have been done to you. That story was about forgiveness, the imagery was fun, if a bit gross (which of course the boys listened intently). The lessons stick in your head.

I can't urge you enough to buy this book.
Every boy should learn these principals. It's an easy to read book. 3-4 pages per chapter. One concept at a time, it builds your boy into a man. Full of stories and anecdotes about life, it guides a boy thru decision making and man making characteristics he should be developing. Even a chapter on why to be nice to his little sister because it will mean a happy marriage for him later.

Helping our sons become gentlemen
Great book to read with your preteen/teen sons. The questions asked at the end of each chapter really engage the child in the particular topic.
