Cult drama directed by Dennis Hopper. CB (Linda Manz) is a small-town teenager with a junkie mother (Sharon Farrell) and a father (Dennis Hopper) in prison. Fed up with the confusion which surrounds her, CB runs away, and only agrees to come back when she hears that her dad will soon be getting his parole. But when the old man does return, CB only lurches further into her uncomprehending encounter with the ugliness of the adult world.

Amazing
Dark but brilliant

Resurrected oddity from 1980.
Dennis Hopper took over directing( his first in ten years) & rewrote the script. It's a bit of an oddity, held together by Linda Mantz's great performance,as a punk adolescent ,whose screen father ( Hopper) crashes the truck he's driving into a school bus, with obviously disastrous consequences.Neil Young sings the film title.

Heartbreaking, Harrowing, Beautiful, Punk Rock.
This is a beautiful BEAUTIFUL film. It's a Rock n Roll story about a young teenage woman whose adult role models have abandoned her such as Elvis, the sex pistols, her mother and father. All on both a physical and emotional level which leads to a heartbreaking conclusion. The performances in this film are strong as hell. Just like the direction. This film deserved way more than what it got. It's a travesty that this film never got the attention it should have. The soundtrack is amazing too. The quality of this film was also masterfully redone. Rock on.

Out of the blue from a maverick director
Long before Larry Clark and his "Kids" came along Dennis Hopper (who made that other classic film about doomed youth - Easy rider) directed this brilliant and hard-edged drama about a rebellious young girl, CB whose father (played by Hopper) comes out of prison after a horrific drink driving auto accident with a school bus full of children. An angry film that perfectly captures the disillusionment of post-punk youth in modern America (even though the film was shot in Canada). CB's hopes for a normal family life when her father is released from prison however are shattered when a dark secret is gradually revealed and it isnβt long till things build to a shocking climax as the revelation about CB's father tears the whole family apart. A typically uncompromising film from rebel Hopper with excellent performances and gritty, realistic direction. This film is a must see for all fans of non-compromising realistic film. See it!

Hopper love him or hate him
You either like Hopper or you do not. I find him fascinating even if I do not always enjoy every minute of a film. This applies here. To get to grips with it I will watch it again and who knows might hike the rating.

... and most perverted - what is there not to like. The final frames will literally blow you away
Neil Young soundtrack and Dennis at his nastiest and most perverted - what is there not to like. The final frames will literally blow you away. A seriously under rated movie.

Out of the blue
A distrubing and often tragic look at the Amercian family. Dennis Hopper plays a father who has been in prison for five years. On his return his distructive and abusive ways are brought back to haunt is wife and teenage daughter CeeBee. While he was absent CeeBee has become the carer of the home but also a deliqant. The fathers return is what many belive will be turning point for CeeBee. However what they don't know is between CeeBee and her father lies a guilty past. Hoppers performance and direction are incredable. The film is very low budget but the style and bravery of the peice make up for its flaws. Also contains a great soundtrack.
