Beautifully illustrated, with a good blend of old and new Hollywood. Will absorb those interested in movietars and interior design. Exquisite.

Those of you who are interested in house design, decorating, and homes of the rich and famous will enjoy this lavish produced book. Page after page lets us glimpse and linger inside celebrity homes. Some are quite simple (Bogart and Bacall) while others give us the splendor we expect from these artistic giants (Cher, DeMille, Cukor). There are personal tidbits about the inhabitants and photos are highly glossed for maximum effect and appeal. Check out Dennis Quaid's stunning landscape in the hills of Montana, John Travolta's over-the-top parking space to accommodate planes in a backyard (rest of us have to be contented with bbq's) , and one of my favourites for beauty and taste, James Stewart. I would not expect anything less from a man who believed in angels. One of the best things in having this excellent book is you can go back to it again and again to browse through and let your senses inhale the sights, smells, textures, and general feelings. There are surprises too: personally, I was not impressed with the houses of Katharine Hepburn, and Jayne Mansfield's was, well , what you'd expect. Danny Kaye's, though, was a winner.

Des textes intéressants car retraçant aussi la vie de chaque star dont la maison apparaît. Le kitch de toute une époque dans toute sa splendeur. Attention la maison de Travolta en couverture est une exception.

This book is just sumptous! A wonderful look into the lives of Hollywood legends via color and b&w photos. I especially like the older stars featured: Carole Lombard, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, etc. I have most of the Architectual Digest magazines featuring Hollywood stars, but this book includes additional photos for some of the stars and is presented so beautifully that even those who own the mags should get a copy. Printed on heavy glossy stock, this is an oustanding book that every Hollywood fan should have in their library!

Savor. These are some older homes in Hollywood of some stars from the past. Its a "meaty" book and large. I ordered one for my mother-in-law for a gift and one for my self. I surely enjoyed it.
