update 5/23/15I am changing my review from 1 star to FIVE STARS b/c upon having reported problems (approximately 9 months into ownership) with my solar lights to the seller (Northern Twilight) they promptly issued a hassle free refund via Amazon- 5 STARS for incredible customer service has restored my confidence in this company.update 5-6-15all three lights have completely FAILED to work!!!!Had purchased other, LESS EXPENSIVE solar powered lights around the same exact time as these three POS's and those are still working fine- BAD products.....customer service IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of- AVOID these lights and this company like the BLACK PLAGUE!!!!----Recently purchased 3 of these lights and 2 of them don't work properly even after having closely followed the operating/install instructions and allowing enough charging time.Am still holding out hope that these two defective lights are merely duds as the overall reviews are very high, and had been hoping to install these within all of the homes I build.I will also re-assess this review and change it accordingly- contingent upon customer service response as I'm looking to install these in a new construction that I'm overseeing out of state.----update (4 days later)..don't know if these lights just needed time to charge up, but they're now (FINALLY) working....one word of advice, they seem to be particulary sensitive to other light sources, so if you have another night light/light source nearby and you notice that this particular product is not turning on, try turning off the other light source to see if that may be the reason why....overall nice light given off by this product (not too annoyingly bright, while at the same time, not too dim...)

Should have been able to like it. BUT:PRO: Not much to say. As MOTION sensor,, failed to come on unless EXACTLY in the right location,,, when it DID come on,, it wasn't the brightest of exterior lights, but could have lived with that. DID have the light in direct sunlight for six hours or better before mounting outside. Does get the afternoon sun for at least 4-6 hours here in FLORIDA.CON: Only worked for less than two months... far too expensive a light for something which lasts such a short time. Would study reviews and give this purchase some thought before buying.07/2015,, another location doesn't matter,, EXPENSIVE JUNK,, there are MANY similar lights that cost HALF what I paid for this unit which you might expect to fail within short period of time. One star for arriving promptly and ONE star for being a compact decent looking unit, giving TWO STARS is extremely generous. SAVE you money on this one, either spend more to obtain a decent solar light or look elsewhere, TERRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY.. DIDN'T WORK THAT WELL FOR THE MONTH OR SO WHEN IT '''WORKED''', AND WAY TO MUCH FOR A PRODUCT LASTING LESS THAN TWO MONTHS. IF IT HAD LASTED A YEAR,, THEN MAYBE....

Update 2-17-15:I noticed that the seller reached out to me via the comment on my review. I contacted him and he stated that he is sending a replacement. I received the replacement today and am thrilled that a company still stands behind their products. Few companies do that these days, especially other solar product sellers here on Amazon. I will charge it for 1 day to make sure it is fully charged and then hang it from one of my eaves. It is such a bright light and I like the dimming feature with motion sensing to full power. It is trimmed in aluminum casing and seems built better than most solar products. I appreciate the replacement light and great customer service. I will be back to buy in the future knowing that they stand behind their products.Last review:I have had this product for about 5-6 months and it worked great when I got it, but after a while I noticed that it started fading. I put it out in full sunlight for a whole day and it won't turn on anymore. Wish I knew how to contact the company to see if I could get a replacement.

I'm very picky because I have tried different brands looking for a truly bright and useful light to illuminate our front door and I'm finally satisfied with this particular light. It's actually good enough to light up the screen door and steps so I can see at night who is at the door. It's also very nice looking and modern and blends well with any decor.EDIT**** After reading all the posted reviews I have decided to alter this light prior to hanging which was successful. I took an outdoor clear weather-proof caulk and sealed the edges with a thin bead line. If done carefully and neatly it does not disturb the solar panel and has ensured the housing will stay waterproof. So far it has been the answer to the problem water and moisture has been posing to other unsuspecting customers. Hope this helps. Otherwise I really appreciate this product.

I haven't mounted the unit yet, but it has been outside for 2 weeks. It has rained heavily during that time and the unit still works.Condensation occurred under the upper glass over the solar array once. It didn't seem to do any harm, but that is of concernI have bought 3 other solar lights over the past three years and none has lasted very long. Hopefully this one is the exception.The feature of the light being on low at all times during the night is a good touch.Update 7/27/2014I mounted the light and liked it so much I bought another. The seller followed up to see how they were doing. I let them know that one of the units seemed to have its sensitivity to motion fading, and without hesitation they mailed me another unit.That is service above and beyond! On that basis, I hereby raise the rating to 5 stars
