Sturdy, but fails to relieve ear pain
Because the back of my head slopes inwards towards my neck, the force exerted by the elastic face mask bands on the strap pulls the strap in but down (not to mention regular ol' gravity doing the same). This means that when using a face mask the force and discomfort is merely redirected from the back of the ear to the top. I have to wear face masks on the job due to company policy so I've got 8 hours a day experience to say that it hurts.The strap itself seems sturdy and the teeth don't break, so I guess if your head/hair shape is right this product might be a great help.Now I just use the strap to extend the chain on my ceiling fan so I can pull it without getting out of bed.

It does work, I’ll start there. But...
It does work, let me start there.My issue with the product has been that the brackets (let’s call them that) get stuck in my hair when I’m trying to slide it up/down when wearing or taking it off. There’s a review on here that says “not for persons of color/those with coarse hair unless your hair is in a bun or ponytail”. As a black woman that’s been wearing her braids in a bun and still experiencing an issue, I would have to agree with that person. To keep it from hooking my hair, I would take my mask’s straps from around my ears and slide it down to my neck, which I’m sure is probably not the most effective way of wearing one.The company does not accept returns — I’m not sure if that’s stated somewhere on their page prior to purchasing, so heads up.I ended up purchasing a similar product but is made of silicon, instead of plastic, with a design of raised “knobs”, instead of hooks like this one.
