A Pipe for February (American Indian Literature and Critical Studies Series) (Volume 44)

A beautifully written book, sharing the story of an Osage artist as he sees the old ways of his ancestors give way to changing times. He exposes the corruption of the greedy white men who exploit the newfound material wealth of the Osage.

This is one of the best books I have read in a year! The characters are well described as you read each chapter and the story expands one's understanding of great injustice and oppression of indigenous people.

I enjoyed the book.I heard Martin S.is making this into a movie in the future.That will be interesting like the movie Killers of the Flower Moon that was recently released.

This brought me back to my childhood growing up in Oklahoma out of the country with native Americans as my best friends. We have failed in this country to assimilate them into our culture fully. In reality after reading this book I’m reminded if there is much in their culture that we could assimilate into and be better off.

This is written from an Osage Indian perspective and is well written and worth reading !!A great book to read before watching Killers of the Flower Moon!
