Correct, they are rubber. It is a wonderful trike! Very high quality all around.

Q: What's the age limit for this bike?

I don't think there is an age limit, really. At some point my grandson will out-grow it, or notice that the rest of the cul-de-sac has graduated to actual bikes. When that happens, this baby is toast. Until then, he really loves it. He is 3 yrs old, 3'7" tall and just about 40 lbs. I think he has about a year before his legs will be too long. Since his buddy was recently given a very nice bike with training wheels, I may not have that long.

Q: How fast does this tricycle go? My daughter has a tricycle with plastic wheels currently and it doesn’t move as fast as she pedals.

This is a nice solid bike, and the rubber tire grips the pavement making my granddaughter’s pedaling really efficient. The wheel rotates equal to her pedaling. Now, because of the lower (low-rider) style, her positioning causes her pedaling to be forward & down...not just down like she would push with a regular “straight up” tricycle.
