nostalgic
When I was younger I had came home crying from school after a teacher had asked me to read aloud in class. I couldnāt read a lot of the words and the other kids in class laughed. My my told she would help me learn to become a better reader by having me read books aloud to my dad and her.Fast forward a few days and she had found this book at a local garage sale. From the moment she brought the book home both my mom and dad would have me read one of the story aloud at night to them. They helped me sound out the words I had difficulty with. And slowly by slowly I soon was able to read a whole story on my own. Which built my confidence in reading aloud in class. And for that this book is five stars from me.

This is super good book.
I got this book for my daughter who was having a hard time reading. This book helped her learn to read in no time she became a little more confident.

5 year old beginning reader loves it
This book was a Valentine gift for my 5 year old granddaughter. She is in kindergarten and is beginning to read. She (and her 2 1/2 year old sister) immediately enjoyed it. It contains a nice combination of stories, poems, tongue twisters and more. The 5 year old is able to read more of the book each time I see her. One day she was looking for it and said " I have to find that book, it is very important to me." I'm so glad to have purchased it for her!

Good collection for early readers
I bought this book for my son who is in first grade. He has grown with this book - from the stories where some of the words are replaced by pictures, to the riddles and jokes, to complete stories of Frog and Toad and Morris the Moose. Most importantly - he picks up this book now and reads for pleasure. My one complaint is that the book seems to be organized backwards - the easier reading is in the back, the harder is in the front. The same applies to the Ready-Set-Read and Laugh anthology. Good collections and my kids enjoy reading them.

Nice little set of readers
This is a nice little anothology for beginning readers. It has books and poems and some text/picture riddles in the back. My child of course found one story that was her favorite (Morris has a Cold -by Bernard Wiseman) because it is humorous and only read that one! I think because of this, I lean toward buying individual books personally, but that's just our little glich. That is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

A fun and educational book
My sons are in kindergarten and just learning to read. They were getting bored with their school books so I picked this up (and another by the same author). I was a bit worried that it would be difficult, but so far it is perfect. In each story there may be two or three words that are beyond their current reading ability, but they love learning new words, looking at the pictures and laughing at the content. A great buy for anyone who is looking for a book to supplement their early reader!!
