I have used EFAC for a couple of years now and take it internally as well as use it externally if I'm having a bad day. I poke a hole in the capsule with a knife and squeeze out the contents which I apply to my sore spots. Within a few minutes, they are no longer sore. The capsules are fairly small, but a little goes a very long way so I never have to break open more than one. This is a great product, and I just bought some of the powder for my aging dog.
