Some reviews complained about the short screws. Is it still an issue?

Yes I just had mine delivered today 11/9/2021. The bracket screws are way too short so unable to attach clamps to brackets. Can't finish step #1 in the manual. Gonna buy longer screws from Home Depot & hopefully that will work.

I keep reading about issues with the screws. Has anyone tried threadlock or some other means of holding the screws in place?

I never thought about threadlock. Might have stopped my tray from smashing to the floor tonight. I must have the screws from before they were modified.

What is the measurement from the top of the bracket to the top of the actual wood tray? Also called drop height.

I relied on this measurement and it wasn't true for mine. The maximum distance from the top of the desk to the top of the tray is just over 3 inches (it's not adjustable). Keep in mind (for sliding purposes) that the bracket at the back of the tray adds 3/4 inch of height, so 2.5 inches clearance if you want it to slide back. Additionally, you need at least 3 inches from the front of your desk/table to any lip under the table if you want to fully attach the brackets.

My desk is pretty thin (3/4 of an inch thick). Can I still use this clamp-on tray on it?

Yes, you can. I have an Ikea Thyge and it works just fine. If you type vigorously, you might experience some shaking, but overall stable. Note that if you have a small desk, it might not fit since it needs almost 37 inches of space, clamp edge to clamp edge.
