I bought this because it was on sale. At full price there would have been cheaper options. But it's nice to get the premium brands when such an opportunity arises.Anyway, this is 5A molecular sieve-- rather less commonly used than its 3A (dessicant) and 4A (solvent separation) brethren.5A is more notably used for separating hydrogen from oxygen.It can also separate oxygen from nitrogen, though best used with some 13X zeolite as well. 13X-lithium zeolite is even better for that, but it's very pricy.If you can also find some 3A carbon molecular sieve, that stuff can be used for removing the residual argon from the oxygen stream coming out of this stuff.Meanwhile, 4A carbon molecular sieve is the current common standard for high purity nitrogen extraction from air-- though if lower purity is needed, you can just use reverse osmosis filters and take the waste stream.The container also looks fancy and can be reused for holding leftover sorbent media or other solid chemicals later.
