Fantastic bow, absolutely beautifully crafted!
This is an amazing bow for the money. Seriously . . . WOW! I am basically a beginner, and this is my first bow. I took a couple lessons at a local range where their beginner rental bows are Samick Sage bows. They shoot great, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with Samick's time-tested bow. However, this Spirit bow I feel is a little leaner, feels a tiny bit less bulky, and is just absolutely gorgeous to look at. The laminated wood is artfully crafted and looks expensive. My wife says it looks like an Iphone with its clean white package, simplicity and zen-like appearance. For those macho guys where everything needs to be black or camo and have death threats written on your bow, this probably isn't for you. This is a super classy bow that is beautiful but would certainly demand respect if you are on the wrong end of it, as it definitely does not look like a toy. It came just as in the photo, with the word "Spirit" tactfully placed on it.As for shooting it . . . WOW! Extremely well balanced, easy to shoot, the handle is smooth and perfect for my grip. The first time using it I was able to nail 10 out of 12 arrows onto the target. (24" target at about 20 feet) Within just a few more practice sessions I was able to consistently get 12 out of 12 arrows on the target and my arrow grouping is getting better and better with each session, at 30-35 feet.I got the 66" 30 lb version. Note that if you are a beginner, you MUST choose the right sized bow and draw weight for your body based on your level and body. If you buy the wrong bow for you, your skill will suffer, you will learn bad habits and ultimately you will not have fun because you won't improve. After much research, I found the simplest explanation on choosing the right bow at learn-archery.com.I am so happy with this bow, and as I don't hunt, I see no reason why I would ever need to upgrade it.PROS:* Beautifully crafted* Real wood grip* Take down and set up is easy* Stores easily - when disassembled it fits in a 24" box or duffle, shorter than your arrows* Easy and fun to shoot, which is why I bought it!CONS:* Will cause you to watch "The Arrow" on Netflix until 4am, followed by dreams of being a superheroFor arrow selection, I purchased these: Archery Arrow Nocks Fletched Arrows Fiberglass for Hunting Practice Shaft Glass FiberThese work great at a great price. See my review of the arrows there also. Combining the SAS Spirit with these arrows gets you into archery for $125!!!If anyone has questions, just ask and I will do my best to answer. Happy shooting!

Very nice bow for a very nice price
Amazing good bow for a very good price. This bow looks to be a rebranded Samick Polaris. It's very easy to setup and a dream to shoot. It's got all the fixtures to let you add on sights, stabilizers, plungers, etc., or you could just shoot it as a barebow if you wish. Only thing missing are mounting holes for a riser mounted clicker. The quality of the riser and limbs is very good. The bow did not come with an arrow rest, so I suggest starting out with a stick on arrow rest from the same company. As a warning, beware that the Berger hole on this bow is setup with a metal insert that sticks out from the riser about 1/8". The center cut on this 66" riser is thick. If you intend to get a plunger and a wrap around magnetic arrow rest that is held by the plunger, you will get very little wiggle room to adjust your plunger barrel depth. The Bicaster plunger and arrow rest set worked for me, but it was close. You'll get more leeway if you use a standard plunger and a stick-on magnetic rest. There are some plungers with longer bodies if you really don't want a stick on rest.

Amazing quality. A bit hard to string without a stringer but it is doable. Once I started shooting I was blown away. My first shot went over 300 feet. I have the 34 pound version so it is not a good bow for children under 12. Overall it is an amazing bow and totally worth the money.

Decent full size bow, perfectly adequate for those new to the sport
Most of these beginner wooden bows are 62in, but this one is the full 66 using a full size riser (the part you hold). That's the main distinction vs. most of these other generic intro models. The arms on them are interchangeable, just be aware the draw weight will change by couple lbs with riser size.Quality is more than good enough for most shooters. But on the other hand, the wood used is bit on the softer side.

Beautiful bow makes you look the part!
This is a beautiful, responsive bow with the convenience of being travel worthy. I'm a beginner at this but I'm enthusiastic so I have had all my family and friends take up the bow for some fun. Everyone loves the feel of this bow. The handle has a smooth, comfortable grip and the weight is nicely balanced. A great price for a beginners bow and beautiful to boot!

Good Bow
The bow is real good for the price. I see no difference between the Sprint and Sage.Excellent beginner or experience bow for traditional archery.

Great bow for beginners
Purchased this for my 15 year old son who is 6 feet tall. His coach recommended this one. He is just beginning to practice archery and loves this bow. It's a high quality beginners bow and looks beautiful. He's used it weekly for one year and it has retained it's shape and quality. Very impressed.

Southland Archery Supply SAS Spirit 66" Take Down Recurve Bow
The bow I received I returned. It was of expected quality, other than, limb-riser-bolt alignment and my concern that the bolt holes were not fully protected by a metal sleeve. As a take-down design, which will be taken apart and reassembled repeatedly, this functional point on this design bow needs to be well addressed. If not for that, it would have been a keeper. The other quality elements appeared to be at an acceptable level. However, as far as seeing how it shot and all that part of it, - I can't say since, again, returned. I'll add that, since the OEM has this choice to consider, - the packaging is minimal. Therefore, if shipped in just it's own box, which is likely not how made it here (on a large wrapped pallet), it is more then underwhelming to get this, or for, as a gift and wonder what one will uncover when open the unprotected box of unprotected parts.
