I have to wear a hat in the sun due to skin cancer on my head, and NO baseball caps! I always liked the jaegermutze, and have a good black wool one. I found this product exactly what I wanted. It has a good cotton body, and the fit is a tad large (I ordered XL...my head is 71/2), but that's okay. When my hair grows longer, it should be okay, and it wasn't too small. I also removed the rosette, and I'm quite satisfied with its jaunty appearance. I can't wait to wear it. The olive color is also very good. Ones I had before were more of a green, but I am very satisfied, and delivery was ahead of schedule. The hat was flat in the package, but if you stretch it and put it on a round object (my German helmet!) and bend the bill, it will shape out very well. It's a real go-to-hell hat.

Mine's a genuine M43- size XXL and thus labeled "Gr. 64". Brand new cap. Comfortable. Best fittin' cover I got- and I have a lot that fit well. But it's a big 'un. Do NOT order the XXL unless you wear a size 8 or better in a fitted ballcap. I opted for field gray which is distinctive but considerably less of an attention-grabber than either flecktarn pattern. The craftsmanship is flawless- exactly what you'd expect from Germany. The only marking beside the tag stitched inside is a Deutsche tri-color roundel in the front.I'm completely satisfied and recommend this cover without any reservation.

I am a 58 hat size and ordered the proper size, which was for both 58 and 59. When I first tried it on, it was obviously way too big. But relax, there is a solution. Put the hat in a pan, pour boiling water over the hat and let it set for 15 minutes. Put the hat in your washing machine, put on the spin cycle. Remove hat from the washing machine and try it on. If it isn’t snug, put it in the clothes dryer on permanent press for a few minutes. While still a little wet, try it on again. If it is snug, keep it on your head till the hat is dry. If not, throw it back in the dryer till dry. If it fits, all is well. If not, repeat the above instructions. Mine now fits!

It's a rare occasion when I leave a less than 4 or 5 star review. Unfortunately this is one of those times. This IS a nice cap, but... A) for what it is, it's NOT worth the price. A more realistic and reasonable price would have been $10-12 Less ! So, to the cap. B) Yes, it's made in Germany. C) the visor bill is NOT reinforced - either with plastic or cardboard as are U.S./UK military field caps - it's just a few layers of fabric. D) The sizing was a size or two too large. I wear a U.S. 7.25"/UK 58cm, and this was tagged "59", but fit closer to a 60cm. However I can deal with it. E) the fabric colors are not as "bright" as shown on this site. Rather darker or more subdued. I was trying to match a Euro desert camo uniform I already had. The photo was a bit misleading. Amazon would have accepted it back for a refund or exchange. Amazon is very good about that. But I didn't feel like a 25 mile round trip drive to the UPS store. One positive note is that if you're looking for a bit of style and don't like the "Elmer Fudd" cap look, this might work for you... if the price drops, and if Amazon can get the seller to provide more accurate sizing information !!!

Sent this item back. It's a very cheaply constructed knock-off. The ear flaps/baclava aren't functional, just faked, buttons do nothing. The brim is plastic inside, not in a good way, going to be hard to retrain. Mine was bent up presumably due to packaging or by the way it was sewn, leaving it wearing like Gomer Pyle from Mayberry. The crown was oddly shaped as well.This reminds me of a cheap painter's hat, dressed up as a military item. For $10, it might be worth using as a painter's hat, but doesn't come close to an authentic hat for the price I paid.

Vary comfortable but little hot great buy

Pedí el tamaño grande y me quedó justo a la medida, hubiera preferido que quedara un poco más holgada, pero es difícil saber la medida en centímetros de la gorra, además no encontré mucha información sobre las equivalencias en centímetros de las tallas que manejan; sería muy útil que las pusieran en la descripción o algo así. Busqué en la red, pero no aparecían las tablas en centímetros para este producto.Aun así, excelente producto, excelentes materiales, vale lo que pagas. Sólo hay que tener cuidado con las tallas. Si puedo, posteriormente pondré la equivalencia en centímetros de la talla que compré para que ayude a más personas.

Good quality 100% cotton cap. Only issue not worthy of 5 stars is the size guide. I ordered M size based on my head circumference. It came a bit tight. Measuring the inside diameter of the cap - I found it's 1/2 inch shorter than as expected. Not sure if how they measure the cap is the same as my method. By their table M was supposed to be 22 1/2 inch but I measured 22 inch. If ordering based on your head circumference measurement probably get 1/2 inch bigger
