It's standard from the factory, and will go away after a break-in period of approximately 50 miles.Q: Should I do anything special during installation?A: We suggest using a little oil on the threads any time you're replacing bike pedals, no matter what make or model the pedals.Q: Will these pedals replace 1/2" pedals?A: No. These are 9/16". Since the difference is only 1/16" it is VERY hard to "eyeball" which size you need. We advise consulting your owners' manual or the bike manufacturer website to verify which size fits your bike.

SMALL Pedals. 3 1/2" by 3 1/2"!
Very small pedals, they look suitable for a youth. They are not "Dimension: approx. 110x100x21mm / 4.4x4x0.83 inch" as described. Not counting the stub of the pedal shaft OR the reflectors, these pedals are 3.5" x 3.5"!. I think Lumintrail has accidentally cut & pasted this description in from their loose ball pedals. The 6mm hex key hole in the threaded pedal mounting stub should be 5mm like every other pedal I've seen, the 6mm leaves a weaened area, but that's my opinion. They are also incorrect in stating that they may be a little rough, or grind a bit while new. That applies to their loose ball models, not the sealed, they will feel smooth when new. I had difficulty returning also. so I won't purchase from Lumintrail again, although they are better than MeetLocks bike accessories & pedals.

Good replacement pedal
Got these as a replacement for the plastic pedals on my sons hybrid bike. He really likes them and since he works part time as a freaky fast bicycle delivery driver in Pittsburgh, he likes the way studs grab his shoes especially on all the hills!

Beautiful quality pedal at a great price
Beautiful quality pedal at a great price, now lets see how they last without getting noisy. For years I have had trouble with mountain bikes pedals getting noisy, you think there is some problem in the crankshaft, after a few months even with weekly cleaning and lubrication. I have had the problem with all types of pedals. I hope these sealed bearing pedals will last a while without getting noisy. The pedal is beautiful and well made and quiet for now.

great replacement or upgrade.
grabbed these to replace the clip in pedals that came on my mountain bike and they are a great replacement.they feel nice and strong, while still being light, offer a good grip with the metal nubs and still have a reflector, all around win in my book.

Stiff and broke after a week
Out of the box, the pedals were stiff and wouldn't spin freely. Got them to loosen up with a little oil and manually spinning them.Got them on the bike, and used them for a week. Still wouldn't spin freely, but were fine for pedaling. And I liked the foot feel and traction. But then, after a week, one of the pedals dislodged from the axle, causing the bearings to grind. I barely got back home from my ride.I wanted to like them, and maybe the pair I received were a rare manufacturing defect. I thought about exchanging them and trying again, but opted instead for a set from a competitor.

Money well spent
I ordered these pedals to replace the ones I had been using for years, and I couldn't be happier. They installed in a snap, the quality of the pedal is outstanding, and they have exactly the right amount of "grip" to keep my feet in place while in traffic. I'd recommend these to anyone.

Seems strong and good grip
Purchased these to repair a new huffy bike with cheap parts. They fit like a charm, and grip my shoes better than the cheap plastic ones. The only thing Im wondering is how long the red finish will hold up.I recommend these to anyone that needs an upgrade.

Great Value
Very nice peddles for the money. A nice black finish, but I think they may be painted rather than anodized.
