Best window AC
Bought it to replace my portable AC becuse the portable one is exptremly noisy.I found the design of this one is great. I guessed it should be quiet as condenser unit locates outside behind wall. And it works. It is very quiet. I am so happy with it. I believe this must be way less noisy than other window AC.General installtation was straightforward. But my window is sliding so I needed to build a small frame with plexiglass over the unit. It ends up perfect fit.Update: The unit arrived with damage on air deflector. Tried to reach out to customer service twice but didn't get back. Hard to contact the manufacture.I found the display shows "FL" and disappears time to time. The Users Manuel doesn't have information. Amazon Answers said "it does not have a pump, the FL means the bucket in the front of the unit is full and the moisture should be removed". No ways, no one expects to drain condensate every couple of hours. This is very basic functionality of every single AC units in the market. For clarity, there is no operation outage so far. Water level is managed stable even while it collects water quite fast.Update: I did little experiment as lacking pump doesn't make sense for this type of unit. I added water to basin and found that it sucks the water with machine noise and lowers the water level. I am happy with the result. I believe I can use it without manual draining. Disclaimer, this is a personal experience and there is a conflict with their explanation. Use it at your own risk.Update: Issues are all resolved. Love this product. Great advantage from having compressor outside (behind a wall). Pumping sound is a bit noticeable which wouldn’t happen in a regular window AC. Doesn’t seem suitable to sliding window but I made plexiglass frames so that’s fine for me.

3rd Summer and Love It
I'm starting my third summer with this unit. This 8000 BTU unit replaced a 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner. Right away I saw three major differences. The first was I got back some floor space in my very small house. The second was that the house became a lot quieter. The third was that this new air conditioner runs a lot less and keeps the house a lot cooler. Window space gained was minimal. My home has 672 square feet (about 63 m^2). This air conditioner isn't rated for that much, but I don't have an open floorplan. In the hot weather, I can close the door to the bedroom, and the kitchen is through a narrow opening. The result is that I am comfortable. When I cook, I feel the temperature difference. Most of the time, I run this air conditioner on "quiet" mode. Since I have a YouTube channel, I frequently film in front of it. I used to have to turn off the portable. I can actually record with this running. Nice not to be dripping sweat in summer when filming my videos!I have this unit in my living room. At night, I can usually open up the windows to sleep (I live in North Dakota, so temperature vary a lot). But I have also discovered that if I run the fan on my furnace, I can cool the house off in the evening using this unit. The furnace circulates the air between the rooms, and the air conditioner cools it. As long as I'm comfortable with the 70s, it works on those really hot nights or the occasional night when my neighbor has a late night party.Another nice feature is that this fits well. My parents actually bought me a traditional window unit. Many of those do not fit my narrow windows. This one does fit. Also, many require additional support so that they don't fall out of the window. This one balances well. So, sadly my parents' gift didn't work. But now they have a window unit that actually works great in their house! The one feature I wish this had is the ability to pull air from outside. That is perfect when the house is hot, the outside is not, and you don't really need air conditioning.I should also note that I save a fortune by closing my curtains in the morning. I needed a paper clamp to hold them shut. In the afternoon, I pull solar shades in the west-facing rooms. This really make s a huge difference in the air conditioning bill. If I couldn't do this, the unit might not be good enough.

Powerful, quiet, ideal
This is just what our household needed! My son has a computer tower and multiple monitors in his room that makes what should be the coolest room in the house stiflingly hot. Until now. This little unit straddled my son’s window and installed within an hour (yes, our handyman put it in but he said it was easy - no tools except a utility knife) and everything fits perfectly. The screen needed to come off the window, but the supplied window barrier trim assured no bugs get in and no cool air gets out. It’s not the quietest on the outside of the house, but inside, quiet, cool bliss. I have not heard a complaint since it was installed a few weeks ago, and was surprised when we got our utility bill - maybe $35 more a month? We live close enough to the beach that the rest of the house is plenty cool with ceiling fans and open windows, but if you need one room air-conditioned-level cool, you cannot go wrong with this little powerhouse. A great purchase, and it is quiet enough that sleep isn’t a problem when it’s in sleep mode.
O**.
Money well spent.
I am glad that this ac was chosen.
