This thing is very well built, and can handle larger boards as well as small ones.
I needed a stand for soldering circuit boards and even small tube chassis. I had never bought anything from Panavise before, so wasn't sure until I opened the box. I was pleasantly surprised! The base is heavy enough to stay put and the adjustibility is more than adequate for my needs, and probably those of most hobbyist or repair shop owners. The only hitch, and it's minor, is that the axle for the solder spool holder was missing.

Excellent product!
It might not be the cheapest option out there but it is well worth the couple extra bucks.Ive used Panavise products at work over the years. They are always sturdy, well designed and last forever.

This thing rocks
I am very happy with the PanaVise. With the heavy base, and useful accessories this kit has been fantastic. I recommend snagging quad hands products to go with this depending upon what type of rework you are doing, but overall this is a really nice setup for doing soldering rework.

Not as nice as you'd hope
With as much love as these get, you'd think they'd be perfect, but no.First, once you get your circuit board in these jaws properly, working with it is great. But trying to get the jaws spaced properly is … not great. The jaws ride on a piece of square tube and are tightened down with a machine screw into the corner, and that's the only mechanism. The raw metal-on-metal action is just as unsmooth as you'd guess. Trying to move a jaw by a millimeter is a real pain, and in order to get the jaws to hold a circuit board and release it when needed is going to require some millimeter-sized adjustments. A few gib springs would work a wonder, honestly. I wonder if retrofitting some would be feasible. Also, mine was shipped with what appears to be a tumbling stone jammed inside the square tube, stuck right at the mounting hole. It was jammed in there real good, too. I thought I'd never get it out, but I was finally able to. A little QC would be nice. At least we know they're trying to polish burrs off.

Very Usable Vise
Great vise. This holds all sorts of circuit boards. The vertical arms that hold the circuit board contain a slight V shaped depression to firmly grip the circuit board. However, if you're designing your own boards, you'll want to leave a bit of room between the edge of the board and the outer most tracing or component holes, otherwise you won't be able to get to them because of the V shaped channels. One accessory that this does not come with nor does it look like there's one available is a small parts tray that can go on the horizontal arm that holds the two vertical arms. This horizontal arm is 1/2" by 1/2" square extruded pipe (box pipe). I just 3D printed a tray that slides on the end of the arm so that parts are right next to the circuit board. The vise can be adjusted any way you need and it's heavy enough that it doesn't slide around the table as you're working on your circuit board.

PanaVice Products are an Excellent Choice!
I have used these PanaVice products for decades, both at work and home. Their simple design ensures low probability of failure, and are just the right size for working on circuit boards, and finishing small sheet metal filing. They may be excellent for other jobs, but That is not what I use them for.I currently use 376 Self-Centering, Extra Wide Opening Head, 311 Bench Clamp Base Mount, 303 Standard Head, and 324 Electronic Work Center, and considering a tablet mount for my car.

An easy 5 stars and a note on how I flip the board
Easily 5 stars. I found this to be plenty stable and easy to adjust.I found it easy to adjust the PCB to a nice, low to the bench, 45 degree angle (see photos). Then, when I'm ready to flip the board, I would use the PCB release knob with my left hand, flip the board with my right hand and then lock it back in place again. The release knob has a pleasant, obviously well thought out shape as well as a nice smooth action. The vice's long "fingers" hold the PCB securely without a hint of hesitation. The "fingers" provide a nice smooth, secure surface on which to rest your pinky fingers to steady your hands. It definitely makes the project much more enjoyable.

Awesome tool!
Very very very good. You will not regret buying this. Ever say “boy I wish I had a third hand....” when working on something? Well, here it is! Very impressed, heavy construction, and quite large. You’d be able to work on motherboards with this.
