Flat back
These were very nice. Seem strong and good quality but I couldn't use them. These do not have the ridges on the back so they can be used over siding. The backs are flat and smooth so can only be used under siding. They can be usee prior to installing siding or perhaps if you cut out your siding to fit these.

It worked for me.
I used the block with Hardie Board. Added a galvanized drip edge on top. Tossed the frame.
