A small plane carrying Robert Harper (Massimo Foschi, The Chosen, Nine Guests for a Crime) and his friend Rolf (Ivan Rassimov, Spasmo, The Raiders of Atlantis) crash lands in an isolated development in New Guinea. After the pilot and his female companion are killed by a tribe of cannibals, the two friends on the run are separated and Robert is captured by a rival tribe, who may not be cannibals, but are cruel and primitive beyond belief. Tortured and humiliated, Robert is taken to the edge of his sanity by a series of acts so horrible that they are practically beyond human comprehension. Only the fact that one of the tribe women (Me Me Lai, Eaten Alive!, Element of Crime) sympathizes with him, gives Robert the strength to plan a desperate escape, but standing in his way back to civilization are the cannibal tribe responsible for the death of his crew members. This cannibal classic directed by Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust, Body Count, The Barbarians) played all over America as The Last Survivor in an edited form, now watch this classic uncut from a Brand New HD master.Special Features:-Includes Both the Uncut International Version and Alternate U.S. Cut -Interview with Star Massimo Foschi -Interview with Star Ivan Rassimov -Theatrical Trailer -Dual-Layered BD50 Disc

Great looking Code Red release!
The extras:I am not very sure since it's been years since I saw the Shriek Show release, but I believe these are the same interviews with stars Massimo Foschi and Ivan Rassimov. I think there was an interview with director Ruggero Deodato and an audio commentary track that's missing here. However, you get the trailer for this movie, Mountain of the Cannibal God and Cut and Run... I for one do appreciate that...You have the choice of either watching the American Cut Release or the International version, which is the one I picked. Before the start of the show, they warn you that it was put together from different sources and they apologize if it doesn't look great.Other than a few places where the action slightly skips , I don't think this movie, which is a ph.D. class in cinematography (done by a Marcello Masciocchi) and overall, in the craft of hasty film making, has ever looked or sounded better. I say this from having seen several versions, the first one being what Mexican home video distributors from the early nineties titled "En el infierno caníbal."The film:Apart from the fact that Ubaldo Continiello's score, which still is good if a little mismatched in a few places, will never hold a candle against Riz Ortolani's work in Cannibal Holocaust; one of the masterpieces in horror film, it'll pretty much depend on the day.Still as derivative from A Man Called Horse as it's nonetheless seminal and fairly accomplished predecessor Man from Deep River (and featuring its two main stars), the main difference is that, while Cannibal Holocaust has a very elaborate premise and what, for lack of better terms, I'm gonna call a moral standpoint, Last Cannibal World is extremely simple... and raw. It's nothing but the quest of a "civilized," spoiled guy, put in equal terms with peoples that are as savage as they get, for one thing only: survival.I must say that I liked the scenery a whole lot better than its successor; the caves, the hills and the jungle density give the natural element a more menacing look. Other than that, it's difficult to decide which one of Deodato's first two entries in the cannibal genre is more challenging. Today... I wanna say the degradation factor is the fraction of a notch higher here... and I don't think anybody has ever pulled a job as Massimo Foschi's did here, or ever will given the ever more political correct times we live in...I guess is as much a classic of exploitation cinema as Cannibal Holocaust. They sure don't make'em like they used to no more!

"Ruggero Deodato's 2nd Great Cannibalism Film!"
I bought this because I have "Cannibal Holocaust" and that was the first unique cannibalism film I ever saw. So I finally saw it and I thought it was really great cannibalistic film. I like the tits showing on Me-Me Lai. She was a babe in the film. It's too bad what happens to her at the end. You will see uncut version or the cut version but I enjoyed the uncut version better. It only has one special feature on it. The picture\sound has HD quality and it's way better. If you like "Cannibal Holocaust" you will like this a lot. To all the horror addicts. Highly recommend it.

Very good picture quality
The Blu Ray of Jungle Holocaust has a very good picture quality. Best version to get of this movie. Only downgrade is there is no italian audio option.

Great blu ray upgrade
Amazing blu ray upgrade. It's bare bones with no notes, lobby cards, etc, but the image and sound is a vast improvement over the SD DVD release. Worth it if you enjoy this movie.
