Best scooter we have owned so far!
First off this scooter came super quick and was packaged perfectly! Opened the shipping box and there it was in all its glory! As I bought this for my son, I let him unbox the entire thing and build it. He had the thing ride ready in less then 10 minutes (and that was with taking off all the protective plastic and foam)! So after it was all built the battery did show it was 75% charged, but when trying to ride it, my son couldn't get up the driveway. Got a little worried at this point thinking I got a bad battery, but charged it for 3 hours (per the manual) and boom! My kid was cruising with no issues! The charging is so easy compared to other electric scooters we have had in the past. Most use a proprietary charging plug that has to go in a certain way, but with the React it uses the tried and true barrel connector, now I don't have to worry about about him bending the male charging prongs on the scooter. My son weighs approximately 145lbs and has no issues with this scooter. I have not followed him in the car or anything to see if its going 15mph, but from watching him its plenty fast for him to scoot around and have fun on or even run to the store to grab a snack.Folded up the scooter should have no problem fitting in a locker at school, but to big to put in backpack or anything like that. Folded up, it easy to carry and don't have to worry about slamming it into your shins.Overall this is a great buy to get around to grab a few things, to go to school/work that is close by. You are limited by the range (3 miles in each direction) unless you can charge at your school/work.The only negative my son had mentioned about the scooter is that its a little stiff to fold and unfold, but I assume that is part of the safety feature of the scooter to ensure that it does not collapse while riding. Even with it being hard to fold, its FAR from a deal breaker for this scooter.

Not made to last
I purchased two of these scooters back in August 2020 as birthday presents for my kids. One did not work, so I had to return it for a refund. The second one had minor visible signs of wear, perhaps it was an open item (or refurbished) fraudulently sold as 'new' (i.e. you could tell the foot grip paper covering the battery had already been peeled off). I decided to keep it as it was actually working. Unfortunately, it did not take long to stop working. I should have returned both. At least I can safely say that I gave this brand a good chance and they simply did not live up to expectations. I neglected the bad reviews I had originally encountered. My kid put very little use on the scooter, I charged it as directed but the quality is simply NOT there...After researching reviews for a second time, the bad reviews that I had originally neglected were nothing but true. DO NOT BUY!

Awesome electric scooter! Perfect gift!
So I bought the Mongoose React E2 for my 9 year old son and he loves it! The first thing he said was “Whoa!!” Followed by and “Thank you!”. Mongoose has a really made a great electric scooter. The scooter came in very secure packaging, when I removed the scooter all that needed to be done was attach the handle bars to the scooter base and tighten the 2 Allen screws to the scooter base with the Allen key that is provided in the packaging and you are ready to ride. One of my concerns where, is this scooter safe? Mongoose made sure that rider must get enough speed before the motor engages, also if you apply the rear foot break it disengages the motor allowing the rider to come to a safe controlled stop. I really prefer the push button throttle that is on the Mongoose React scooter over the twist throttle that other scooters use. The scooter also has plenty of speed getting up to 10 MPH and a range up 8 miles, which is more than enough for my son. Charging takes some time at 6 hours with it being a lead acid battery, but we just make sure to charge it overnight and to just make sure to unplug it in the morning which recommenced by Mongoose. My one complaint, would be that the grip tape has begun to peel from over use from son. Which is a very simple fix, I am happy that he gets so much use out of the scooter!Pros: Fun quick scooter- plenty of battery- solid build- push button throttleCons: Can’t get my son off it!

Buyer Beware!- Updated
I have been a Amazon buyer for years. This will be the first review I have ever posted! I purchased one of these Mongoose scooters for my son's 13th birthday on August 3rd, 2020. He absolutely loved it. It was very smooth and was super quiet when running, very fun to ride. He loved it so much we purchased a second one for his brother. Then about a month later my 13yr old's scooter stopped working and my other son started to complain that his scooter was jerking. The engine on his seems to be cutting in and out and has made it unsafe to drive. I have emailed the company twice now, with no response. I am very disappointed , to spend so much money and now both are broken after only a month. I should say , they were not abused in any way. We have a very large paved driveway and street the boys were using them on. I am going to keep trying to contact the company and if I get a response I will update my review.Edit- After 2 emails with no response, i called the company. They told me to check the wire connections under the deck of the scooters. The second scooter i purchased seems to be working now , although we didn't really find a loose connection. The first scooter i purchased, we couldn't remove the deck and were afraid to strip the bolts. I called the company back they shipped the scooter back to look at it and told me they would call me. A few weeks later a new scooter showed up at my door. I have two very happy boys again!

Excellent scooter and great value. Performs great and battery is very good.
The battery on this scooter is top notch and holds a charge very well. The poor reviews are from people who likely did not read the instructions. This scooter does not have a BMS (battery management system” so make sure you use the scooter u tilt he charger is low (only 1 or 2 lights) and then charge it for 3 hours or less. Do not exceed this time or you will ruin the battery. Many people are charging it overnight and damaging the battery and wondering why it doesn’t hold a charge anymore. We’ve had this all summer and my son can go an entire week without having to charge the battery. 10/10.

Fun and solid
Fun and fast, but the rear light flickers and never actually lights up, also the battery indicator lights flickered and stopped working once but luckily work now. Too much of a hassle to return. Runs fine but who knows how long it will last with electrical issues right out of the box.Now 2 years later the middle light led is burnt out so hard to know battery level and the spring that holds the back brake off the wheel broke so it rattles against the wheel.Still works great and mongoose sent me a replacement spring for free so VERY happy with this purchase

Do not ever buy their products!!!!!!!!
This product was kindly replaced byAmazon and only lasted until the summer of 2023. Upon reaching out to the company they had no service solution for us. Do not buy their products. They should have a warning label stating THE PRODUCT WILL NOT LAST AND DO NOT REACH OUT TO US FOR STPARE PARTS.I would like to however thank Amazon for offering a replacement and for stellar customer service

Wife loves it!
My wife wanted to learn how to scooter so I figured getting an electric one that we can bring along for picnics on the city pathways. Set up is easy. It comes with the tools you need. Only took me 15mins to assemble. Mine came with around 50-60% charges so it only took around 1-2 hours to 100%. Took it out for a a 6km trip around the neighborhood, the battery still showed 5 green lights (full) after. My wife is only 5'2 and 105 lbs, and this is perfect for her. She enjoyed it a lot and now wants to use it everywhere.I did try to use it multiple times and it works well, I'm 5'10 and 175lbs, the maximum recommended weight for the scooter. It goes pretty fast, but you'll notice a bit of a slowdown when there is an incline, but that is expected.

Easy to set up. Seems like a fairly fast and sturdy scooter.
The scooter hardly took any time to set up. I just had to attach the handle bars. The scooter charges in 3 hours. My son took it out for a rip, and was pretty happy with the speed etc. The only thing I wasn't happy with, is the wire that connects to the acceleration paddle on the right was stripped right at the connection and had the wires underneath exposed. It's something that I could easily repair, but it would have been 5 stars if quality control had done their job.
