A Fun, Edge-Of-My-Seat Read!
I read Writing Wrongs on a recommendation from an author friend and I’m so glad I did! This book is Paranormal Women’s Fic, which is a fun, new genre about ladies on the shady side of forty who get involved with magic in one way or another. In Writing Wrongs, the heroine, who’s newly divorced and living in her grandmother’s basement while she tries to figure out what to do with the rest of her life, buys an antique typewriter and starts writing stories that come true. This book had so many elements I enjoy in a story: small town, quirky family, magic, mystery, a love triangle with two yummy men who may or may not be on the up and up. The last few chapters of the book were incredibly suspenseful and got my heart pounding. If the next book was available, I probably would have jumped right into it so that I could find out what happened next. Hats off to the author for a very clever premise, some fantastic world-building, and an engaging heroine whom I found to be very relatable.

So not what I was expecting.
This book was completely different from what I was expecting. Cricket divorced her husband, Greg and had to move back home with her Mee-maw while waiting for their house to sell. Since she is staying with her Mee-maw she has to help her out as her payment so she helps to sell Mee-maw's handmade goods at the flea market. While taking a break, Crickets walks by another booth which is Connie's curiosities booth. She sees an old fashioned typewriter there that she feels she must have like it is calling to her. She buys it for forty bucks and takes it home. She has to tell Mee-maw and Zoe, her cousin, that while she plans on working with Zoe at the bakery during it's hours of operation, she will be spending the rest of her free time writing and heads off to bed for the night. She gets a call from her ex that upsets her pretty badly. Once she is off the phone with him, she sits down and types out a story that is several pages long then falls into a deep sleep on the couch. The next morning she gets up to work at the bakery. That is when everything starts getting weird... It takes some getting used to to get into this book. It has a lot of dialogue progressing up to the big finale. While plot is developed well, it is fairly predictable right up to the very end of the book. All in all it's a good read if you just stick with it. Looking toward the next book to see how this series plays out.

Holy Crow!!!
I am almost at a loss for words!!! This is the first tome I have read Christine Gael’s work and I am very happy with finding another new author to add to my list of favorites.Writing Wrongs took a few chapters to set the scene and get things really rolling, but good gravy when they did it was quite an adventure! Cricket is a woman in her 40s who is starting her life over from scratch. Her children are grown and off on their own paths and she has left her useless husband and moved back to her hometown to start fresh. Only her idea of pursuing her writing interest are about to take her on a wild ride she never expected. This was a very fun magical mystery to read, as Cricket learns new things about herself and her town she must do some research and detective work to find the truth and figure out what this new path really means for her. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger which doesn’t bother me, I can’t wait for the second book to release to find out what happens next!

Slow burn
This book was ok. Not bad but it took a bit for it to really get going. I feel as if it hot good in the last 3 chapters and them boom or ended.I lived Me-maw as she seemed like a bad ass and Cricket's family unit with her and Zoe. Cricket is coming off a divorce from what I would say is a stupid husband and what seems to be uncaring kiddos. She had to move back with her me-maw for financial reasons. In the midst of that finds a typewriter that Is abt to change her life in the strangest and deadliest of ways. Add to that 2 yummy dudes are vying for her attention and making her a hot commodity. Life seems to be turning ard for Cricket till that typewriter turns out to be a little but more than she bargained for.An interesting read but i don't know. Still processing it and trying to decide if i want to read the next one. This just was too slow a build for me. It got to the good bits a bit late. That being said it was an original plot and. The characters are interesting. A cast of strong women.

Well balanced and fast paced novel
This was the first book I have read by Christine Gael. I have been following the new genre of Paranormal Women's Fiction and I am making my way through all 13 books written by the founding members.I was hesitant to start this book because I wasn't super intrigued by the premise. My gravitation to the paranormal doesn't usually include witches as a go-to option. I am so happy to have been proven wrong by "Writing Wrongs." It literally has everything in this writing style. It has the feel of a cozy mystery, elements of paranormal (witchery, magic and psychics), and a love triangle romance. I don't know how the author squeezed all those things in this novel, but it works. It TOTALLY works. It is super fast paced and still gives us great character development. Cricket is the main character. Cricket could be a total "Daria" if she wanted to be, but the author is an expert at balancing her morose moods with a "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" mindset.Me-maw and Zoe are also a hoot. I don't want to spoil anything, but these ladies add humor in just the right doses throughout the book. In the last third of the book the action really picks up and we are left with a cliffhanger that really had my adrenaline pumping. Book 2 is going to be EPIC and I can't wait!

Interesting storyline
I originally chose this book because it was part the Paranormal Women's Fiction Series. I liked the storyline. It was different from any I had read before and didn't go exactly in the direction I thought it would. It was an enjoyable, fast read. My only complaint was that it ended in a cliffhanger which I absolutely hate, especially with book 2 not due out until April. Other than that, this was a good book.

Awesome and unique magical world
All I can to say is Wow! It was amazing crazy adventure and whirlwind of emotions! Christine Gael Bell created such a unique magical world I am in awe! This book is one of the 13 in new genre created by 13 fabulous authors who celebrates women over 40s not the young ones we are used to. And it's awesome to see how they overcome their struggles with age issues, to see their strong, witty but loving personalities that comes with life experiences.I loved the very interesting story line action packed and twisted, great characters- strong and some crazy which makes it more interesting and fun to read. Love Cricket, Zoe and Mee-maw perfect combination for more adventurous books! Thank you for writing this excellent book and I can’t wait for more!

Great Read
I love this new genre. All the main characters being older women getting a second chance and not mincing the perils of middle age is great. I would highly recommend this book to all my friends.

Great start
I'm new to this author and the writing style was good.I will say that a personal beef of mine is when characters give up their rights so that the story flows better... Cricket is going through a divorce - not unlike many of us - however the sticking point for me was that she walked away from some of her divorce benefits i.e. spousal support that she was entitled to. This struck me as a bad example for the many people out there going through something like this in real life...Other than that - the story was awesome! Writing was good and the premise is fresh. Looking forward to the next one!

Brilliant start to a series
I really enjoyed this book I love the idea behind the crows feet coven. And a sleepover slightly animate inanimate object. mee-maw is my kind of woman! Direct, no nonsense, loves a conspiracy and full of love. The only thing I didn’t like was that someone called Patrick Byrne with a dad called Finneas are supposedly Scottish. Those are both two of the most Irish names ever and an Irish last name please tell me you were mistaken about their heritage or that their mother atleast is a Scot.

A twisty start
Cricket's life is a bit of a mess. And that's before her second-hand typewriter stirs the pot and magic starts to happen. But, trusting in her female relatives to have her back is definitely the strength of the story. Quirky and down to earth.
