Portable Windproof Waterproof Survival Lighter Matches Storm Emergency Camping

like these waterproof matches. Lights well and burns long enough to light other matches or limbs/leaves to start a fire in inclement weather. It was money well spent on my behalf. Bought more for my son and daughter to use when they hike and camp.

they were not nearly wax coated as the ones in the picture, a matter of fact only three looked as if they were coated at all. the container has no oring or screw on the top. not very water proof

Slow to burn through and a little hard to light.

Bought 4 packs thinking these would be good for backpacking emergency kits. Tested several matches from each package, none were satisfactory. The containers are not waterproof. Just plastic with not-so-good friction fit. I would not rely upon these for emergency fire starting. I am using these for my fireplace.

These are ok, but isn't it a lot cheaper & easier to just take a couple bic lighters with you?

You are a total moron to rely on something as stupid as this when a simple BIC lighter will light hundreds of more fires than these while and will do just fine after being exposed to water.. (substantially cheaper, lighter, more useful) Don't be a moron,.. just get a bunch of lighters if you are prepping. They are good for mid term, swedish fire steel is better for long term.
