Bigger than it looks
When I ordered this, I was looking for a feeder for some parakeets. The bird in the picture looks like my parakeets, so I was expecting something of those proportions. The truth? I could actually stick a parakeet inside the feeder. It still works, and the steel is thick enough to stand up to parakeets hanging from it. Easy to load...there's a retaining clip at the top of the coil, pop that open, put your fruit/feed cakes/etc inside, close the clip, and hang in the cage. Because of how it hangs, it doesn't need much cleaning, but it's easy enough to remove to do so. I was a little unsure about it, at first (and so were the 'keets), but after a few hours of it hanging there and doing nothing, they got curious and found the food. I'm pretty satisfied with it, overall.

Be careful if you have a small bird (budgie lovebird etc)
So I got this for my GC Conure and it's in his cage but when all my birds are out my budgie goes in his cage sometimes to poke around. Walked in one day and she was stuck head first down the middle and couldn't get back out because her feathers would catch between the spirals. I had to wrap a washcloth around the spring and push her back down even further to get her feathers all inside then managed to back her out. Since then I only put this up when the cages are closed to keep her from being stuck. There is a piece that cruises over the top that in theory would prevent it but it's easy to move and manipulate and not a challenge to a parrot. Keep that in mind if you have smaller birds.

What is silver and easy to cling to? Answer a hanging food holder.
It took a time for me to learn how to stuff this feeder without all the bits falling out, but once my Cockatiel trained me to fill it properly, with lots of bits poking out, it was a snap. It is easy to clean, well-made, and a breeze for cockatiel browsing. My bird will only eat green stuff, so in go broccoli, asparagus, Romaine, spinach, apple, peppers, cress, dill, basil, cabbage, and carrot tops. It is so much easier to put food into the feeder than to chop everything separately. I really recommend this product for the sheer joy of watching a bird have fun and exercise while eating.

Could have KILLED my Budgie!
I had this in with my 2 adult Budgies for a couple of months. I used it to hold their millet. It was fairly easy to insert a sprig/spray on milled via the top and had a little clamp to lock down. My birds would pick at their millet well and seemed to enjoy this holder. As my birds are in my art studio I am able to observe them well, I was working at my desk and heard my male budgie making odd noises. I saw that his head was stuck in the space between two of the metal coils! He looked as though he was in distress and having trouble breathing. As I got closer he was trying to get his head free and he just couldn’t.I was terrified that if I grabbed him he would break his neck. I had to firmly pull the coils apart being as gentle as I could so he could free his head. The metal is pretty sturdy and the holder basically kept its shape through all of this.He flopped down to the bottom of their enclosure and was still breathing in distress. When his breathing calmed he stayed at the bottom of his enclosure with his eyes closed and his head down. After a few hours he flew up to a high perch with his partner and returned to his head down eyes closed position. The next day he seemed better but it took him a few days to really bounce back. If I had not been there I probably would have had a dead bird.I DO NOT recommend this particular holder for budgies, maybe larger birds. For anyone who uses this with their budgies and loves it, I felt the same way too till this happened. I very rarely go out of my way to leave a negative review on a product but this design needs to be re-evaluated.

If bird wasn't afraid of it , it does the job
I guess our parrot is too old for a new contraption in her cage. Her beek seems to be a little too big to get the food ...

Amazing
This things is the easiest thing to use and is my bird’s favorite thing. She gets so excited whenever I take it out and refill it! It fits all sorts of things like strawberries, grapes, blueberries, and even her bird seed sticks. The only iffy thing with it is that it doesn’t narrow at the bottom. I also got silver instead of blue but that doesn’t really matter to me.

Awesome to put different fruits and vegetables in. I do have the spikes but this is better

Very sturdy & bigger than you'd think!
This is big but really good. My budgies climb it, &it fits large chunks of fruit/veg really well or 2 large pieces of Millet. Easy to clean!
