If you love Stephen Silver's Art Talks on Youtube you will love this book!!! This book is very inspiring, motivating, enjoyable, and easy to read. I love this book and often refer back to it as it offers great life advice that can be applied to almost anything. Look forward to getting Silver's new Character Design book too. A++ for being an amazing teacher and an artist life coach!

Apologies my previous review was accidentally deleted. But this was a wonderful book and extremely helpful for amateur and professional artist alike and if you want to know what this book is like go to his website. There are a lot of wonderful anecdotes here and there. I had the opportunity to figure draw with him at my school and he taught me how fun it was to simply let go and caricature.

Great inspirational book by silver.. good points on how to approach the art career

Working professionally as an animator and doing illustration as a hobbyist, it can be tough to hold together one's own enthusiasm and sense of excitement within the art world. So this is a small book of wisdom well worth flicking through in those ups and downs in your emotional journey as an artist.It's all page-long topics and insights drawing from Stephen Silver's own experiences and career and its all clear, rational and really helps to get a grip on your own perspective and how you can view your own skills and talents, and also how to approach different problems you might face as an artist.Digestible wisdom well worth the asking price.

Lots of little blocks of wisdom of which you can dip into, refresh your memory of easily and inspire yourself daily, weekly, monthly or for emergencies. Worth a read for any creative background.

Es un libro facil de leer y que a pesar del titulo lo que Stephen cuenta puede ser aplicado por todas las personas.A parte de algunas pocas paginas lo demas no esta enfocado especificamente para artistas sino que habla mas de que significa para el ser exitoso, de amar lo que tienes y ser feliz,de enjoy the ride no de inventarte historias sobre lo que podria pasar si pasaria una cosa u otra que puede que nunca pasen y estresarte si necesidad de hacerlo,habla de la importancia de las metas y de otras cosas mas.El mensaje y algunos topicos se repiten a lo largo del librillo pero considero que es justo esa repitición de ideas positivas y logicas que al final del libro te quedas con un pensamiento mas positivo.No incluye fotos o dibujos,desafortunadamente en algunas paginas hay solo mitad de pagina de texto.Recomiendo leerlo.

Not a very useful book as a self help guide. You will be better off buying Silver's art and how to books.
