KoolSkinz Pet Cooling and Heating Vest for Dogs and Cats - Adjustable, Lightweight, Durable (Pink Polka Dots, Medium)

Wanted to love this product, but just didn't. Maybe it's worked better for others, but it didn't seem to be very effective for cooling down our little guy.

I purchased this for my 15lb rescue schnoodle. I was really impressed with how well the vest fit. Seems more comfortable than other vests or jackets I have purchased in the past. The warming feature is impressive and kept Mary much warmer than any jacket we have used. Looking forward to trying the cooling, or should I say kool packs on our next warm weather hike.

After looking at the pictures and reading the reviews, I was under the impression the “kool packs” were going to be cold, which is what keeps the dog cool.However, after I emailed the engineer he told me the “kool packs” aren’t meant to be cold at all because that could cause freeze burn. Instead, they are meant to draw heat away from the dog’s body.I used the koolskinz harness on my dog for a 30 minute walk in 87 degree heat and didn’t seem to make a difference.Also, there is mention in the description of a pocket on the underside belly of the dog- but the pockets are on the side and on the chest.Overall I personally feel deceived by this product, but it seems like others enjoy it so maybe it’s just me!

I haven't seen anything like this before. I've been looking for a product that could keep my dog cool. I've tried others, but they didn't seem to fit my dog comfortably or keep him cool. It's pretty hot in Arizona much of the year. I know this will get a lot of use!

With our dog's black fur we are well aware that rising temps are extremely uncomfortable and/or dangerous for her. Super happy with this purchase. Don't be fooled with the seemingly "not cold" ice packs, they are definitely designed this way to keep the dogs core temp down longer - slow release. Our dog might not feel cold with the vest on but her core temp is for sure lower. She doesn't seek the shade as much and has good energy during activites even during hot days. Fits great and she can be active, no issues so far!

I bought my first vest about 1 1/2 yrs ago and I liked it so much, I just bought a second one. The vest is constructed with small pockets that hold special cool packs that come with the vest. So whether hiking in hot weather, frolicking in the waves at the beach or romping in the snow, this vest keeps my dog cool in hot weather and in Winter, I replace the cool packs with small pocket hand warmers and she stays warm playing for hours in the snow. I highly recommend this vest for active people with active dogs.
