Light coverage, Nice finish
I bought several Saman stain/seal/varnish color testers to try. I'm disappointed at the light color for one coat, but I'm happy enough with the product overall to use it again. My pictures are one coat of Walnut and Coffee/Chestnut blend on unfinished maple, and same colors on pine; the other pic has two coats of Prestige Grey, Dark Chestnut, and Coffee on maple and pine. These are very soft woods so I expected the color to be deeper, but two coats offers a decent color richness on the maple. This stain/seal/varnish does raise the wood grain a little but not much. Final finish is a very slight satin-like sheen (not shiny), but to be more durable, it really needs an additional top coat.

Satisfied customer
Currently renovating my 110 year old house. Every door had 2 layers of paint over varnish. It's been a challenge removing the imbedded paint without causing further damage. I haven't finished but I am pleased with how the Brazilian Cherry has covered the damages. I'm applying several coats out of necessity and I still plan on applying a final coat after sanding with 240 grit sandpaper. It isn't perfect but what matters is my satisfaction. If I was staining unfinished doors or doors without excessive damage then I am confident that I would have been able to use one coat. One can covered the equivalent of 8+ doors if I was able to only apply one coat.

Easy to use dried fast clear and shiny
First time using this type of product. Easy to use dried fast no smell. No streak. Two coats was enough for each wood surface .

Perfect for any staining !
Beautiful color, I had 12 actual Brazilian cherry boards and this rain flawlessly allowed me to stain a pine board and it was a perfect match . I highly recommend this stain.

Good and easy product
This product is easy to use and goes on nicely. I used the antique color on an unfinished pine dresser from IKEA. It dries super fast which was the selling feature for me since this furniture is in use. Would definitely use this again. My only complaint was the color/finish. I wanted the color of one coat, but the smoother finish that 2 coats provided.

Terrific product!!
This product was wonderful! Did everything it was supposed to do - as advertised!! Used it on a worn wooden table as well as a large wood windowsill that had fading and scratches. Came out amazing! Went with 2 coats and was a little darker than I wanted, but I love the coverage and shine - all in one step! Couldn't be happier! Just follow the directions on the can.

I love love love it
I love this stuff! So simple and absolutely beautiful only took one coat was easy to apply once I used a foam brush. Had originally used a normal one and looked horrible had to sand and redo it. Love it so much I’m now going to redo all wood in my house with it. It does smell though but not bad at all. Wasn’t to concerned about the babies being around. Stuff in the past I used was awful. Even ppl living above me complained of the strong smell. Only reason I’ve not done my floors but now I can. I highly recommend using this saman stain. It’s amazing and even someone like my self with zero experience could get a beautiful outcome shows how great it is.

Colour darker than expected, but still easy to use!
The application was very easy to use, but we ordered Teak which I was expecting a colour similar to a true walnut colour, something related to the colour it showed through the pictures, however, it’s much much darker, with a purple undertone (only did 1 application). After a few days the stain looks much better, but still very dark. It ended up working fine for the project we were working on, but I ordered a different colour for my next project!

Super easy to use & beginner friendly
I bought this product to refinish a tabletop that was ruined by accident by my landlord's handyman...I had never done anything even remotely like this before and have no experience with woodworking, painting or staining.I picked this product because it seemed easy to use and didn't require me to buy many different products to get the job done. I don't plan to do anything like this again so buying 2~3 different products would have been expensive and wasteful.I sanded the tabletop down and with a friend's orbital sander (first with a coarse sanding paper and finished it with a fine one).I applied a coat with a new dish sponge, with the wood grain, following the instructions on the can. It was really easy to work with and I didn't have to go super fast. The stain was forgiving. If you forget a dollop somewhere you have a little bit of time to wipe it off before it turns into a dark spot. I applied really thin layers and wiped the excess with a paper towel.I did two coats and the colour darkened a little but not as much as I feared. I picked the colour (amaretto) online, so I couldn't see the can in person, but I lucked out and matched the existing stain perfectly! The stain dries really fast (even though it was quite humid and cold) and leaves a smooth satin finish. Liquids bead on the finish, so I think it'll do a good job being resistant to water damageThe first pictures are outside with full afternoon sun: tabletop before, bare wood and one coat of the stain.Closeup pictures is after two coats and in interior lighting (it looks a bit darker than in person on that picture). I think the stain matches the photo at the bottom of the can pretty well.

Great alternative to any "brand name" poly+stain!
Got this to refinish an "orange" pine desk that was built for me by my father 20+ years ago. I wanted to try this stain+poly on an unprepped desktop...meaning no sanding at all. The desk was originally just polyurethane on pine. Turned super orange over the years, and has worn thin in spots. All I did was clean the desktop with distilled water, and then apply this Saman product with a cheap "10 for $1" kitchen sponge. I used the "coffee" color. I applied thin layers, about once an hour, for a total of about 6 thin coats of the stain+poly. It turned out way better than expected. Wood grain shows through. I love it. It's a hair tacky for a few days, but so is all poly, in my experience. I put my computer and monitor on it only after about 12 hours of dry time and nothing stuck to it or left any marks. This is one of the best products to update old furniture with minimal effort or cost. $10 and my desk looks like it will last another 20 years.
