UPDATE: 3Extremely Good Sound and Directional "Throw"...
I bought a Sony BlueTooth speaker for around the same amount of money... can't hold a candle to this great speaker.Sound is great... very clear, and plenty loud. Highs are very crisp, and mid-range and bass are good. I expected this to be a good speaker... but where it REALLY excels over the other BlueTooth speakers I've bought (I have bought a BUNCH of them...) is how well this projects the sound. Yes, all speakers project sound... but if you put this in a room within 12 inches of a wall, it will surprise you how much it will fill the space with sound.UPDATE: This is kind of a big deal to me: You CAN listen to this WHILE it is being charged. Can't do that with my pricey Sony BT speaker. I listen to audio all day long while I am working... so it's a HUGE deal for me that I can listen while it's plugged in and charging.Delivered just in time for an ice storm... shipped directly from Amazon, and got to me a day late... but hey, it's Black Friday, and Christmas rush is in full swing. So far... this works better than any other BlueTooth Speaker I've bought... I will post an update after using for awhile. Darn happy so far.UPDATE: Despite my earlier satisfaction using this device... now, some months later, my favorite use of this speaker is using it for long conference calls.Yes, great for music and voice audio... but when I put it on my desk and have a long call (3 hours last time) I can hear my call great, and my cohort hears me crystal clearly.Anyone who has used Bluetooth knows, this is a problem with many devices... call recipient often can't hear that well. Not a problem with this one. GREAT call quality.Of course... charging while in use is a big deal to, and real happy with that. Very pleased with this BT speaker... It has gone way beyond what I expected in solving the sound and call problem for me

Works great with Echo Dot. Sound is very good, Value is excellent.
UPDATE III: The company appears to be back in business selling these and the base speaker not working wasn't the speaker, ti was a cable. Upgrading to 4 stars.UPDATE II: The base speaker seems to have quite working less than 6 months in. With no company to complain to: this thing is junk (unless you really like listening to a tweeter only).UPDATE: This company just disappeared. Literally. You can no longer buy the product from Amazon and their website is offline.I bought this one month ago. So much for warranty.Changed from 4 stars to one star. For the price, this SHELFBOOM Wireless Speaker System with Rechargeable Battery & Built in Microphone Stereo Bluetooth product is a very good speaker. I, specifically, bought it to use with an Amazon Echo Dot and it works quite nicely with it. When plugged in and paired with my echo, this speaker stays available. Many BT speakers turn themselves off after a certain time. This one stays available for the echo to use.Sound quality is good to very good depending on placement. I have a range of speakers in my house from a small $30-ish dollar DKnight MagicBox II to $500 Klipsch R-15PM Powered Monitors. This falls in left of middle. At around $60, that's pretty good.Although no where near as loud as a pair of powered monitor speakers, they get plenty loud. Are they good for death metal? I'd guess: no. I'm a Jazz/NPR/Classical listener myself, so for me, they're great. The controls can be a bit confusing; that's mostly due to the use of inconsistent buttons. The power button has to be pushed in (and held) for 3 seconds to turn on the device. It's obviously a 'button'. You can feel that it's a button. The Bluetooth button is a 'touch' button. It's not raised up or obvious in anyway other than the letters BT over the smooth plastic back where (approximately) the button is. The volume control, though cool, is extremely confusing at first. It's a row of unmoving bumps between the power button and the BT 'button' that you swipe your fingers over (right turns it up, left down). There is simply no way to know this without reading the (pretty limited) instructions. It IS cool though. ;)So, yea, Studio Boom guys: Hire some interface design people next time. "Cool", but inconsistent interface elements will kill a product, regardless of quality (take this from a guy who worked at Apple for years. Interface doesn't just matter, it's ALL that matters to most users). One star off for making me read the manual.Battery life seems to be better than stated. I've had it playing music for 8 hours straight now.Pairs with a phone easily and works great as a speakerphone.Overall, I'd say, considering the current market (and vast array of choices), this is one of the better products at one of the better values out there.I'd definitely buy another if needed.

This speaker is awesome!!
This speaker is awesome!!! The sound quality is amazing and I love that it is Bluetooth. My family can listen to it in the house or when we are outside cooking. I also have a small photography business and use the Boom Speaker on set when shooting. Thanks for a great product!!!

Great sound, Awkward HCI, but an Incredible deal for $10.
ten bucks is a wow deal. the HCI is a bit off. manual says to push the bluetooth "button" but it is just a decal.Luckily it turns on ready to pair. I dunno if it can be re-paired tho.the volume control "dots" are reversal of US knobs where right is up.It says NFC but WTF can that do? The power supply is like laptop size, instead of the usual microUSB.finally, I can't find the NEXT and PREV buttons, which are often overloaded on the volume + and - buttons, lacking here.Looked for a manual but "the boom collection" website is SOL. Doesnt seem to be a mic for calls, or next/previous. If someone figures that out, let me know.

Good quality, good sound. Very pleased.
I didn't intend to order this because it was out of my price range, but I apparently hit the "one-click" button by mistake while I was shopping for a Bluetooth speaker. I decided to try it out when it arrived, and I thought the quality was great -- it does a decent job filling my living room with music, and it doesn't sound at all "tinny" like some small speakers do. Several people have commented on how good it sounds, and it doesn't look obtrusive sitting on the sofa table. So I kept it, and it ended up being a happy mistake. :-)

Good looking and sounding
Off to a rocky start but eventually got things ironed out. The seller reached out and not only addressed the functionality issues I was having, but also the issue reaching customer service. Now that I have the replacement the Bluetooth works great and I can enjoy using it exactly as it was advertised. Thanks so much to Dan and Sue for helping sort it out so quickly. I'll definitely recommend SHELFBOOM for quality portable home audio in the future.
