Astaxanthin Vegan Capsules are easy to swallow. It's one of the most excellent ways to protect your skin from sun damage! But for me I stared taking it because of its antioxidants and how it protects your body from free radicals. I have been taking Astaxanthin for 7 yrs now. The other wonderful things that it does is a plus. My skin has a youthful color and feel to it and I'm 68yrs old. Not sure why Amazon asked if it helped with pain. I take this with Lutein for protection against cataracts and other eye problems. It was recommended by my ophthalmologist and I'm very please with this. Much better protectant for your eyes than most of the 'eye vitamins' you see.

Easy to swallow small capsule packed with a complex blend of antioxidants. Seems to be made from all vegetarian sources and vegetarian capsule, not a soft-gel like the label says. Maybe this highly touted capsule has some promise. I can not speak of any long-tern effects yet, but in the 10 months or so that I have used it, it may have lifted my funk and boosted my energy. (I suffer from incurable arteriosclerosis, with only one artery open and working). Maybe it is even lengthening my life somewhat. Why am I so tentative? Because I have some 18 prescription medications per day. I cannot separate out the workings of the OTC Astaxanthin. All I can say with confidence, is that apparently it has caused no harm. I keep on using them.

some preps of Astaxanthin are made with safflower oil?? ! I avoid them.LIKED this one because not only used coconut oil but also have other plant products in it. I like Peak Performance supplements.

The bottle was much smaller than I was expecting. The pills were easy to swallow and didn't leave a bad aftertaste. I have become very sensitive to the sun even with sunscreen as I’ve aged.When taking these capsules, my skin wasn't quite as sensitive.

As you age, Astaxanthin is probably one of the best supplements you can take.
