Servant x Service, Vol. 1 (Servant x Service, 1)

Manga Genres go far and wide one of the few to make it to the US is the workplace comedy, and the fact tags this is a 4-Koma Workplace comedy makes it all the more enjoyable. Take a step into the welfare department in a Japanese Government Office. While learning a little about how the bureaucracy in Japan works you also get to have some laughs at this Gut-busting story or Lucy (etc.) Yamagami and the other 2 new hires in the welfare department.

Servant x Service is an enjoyable office comedy with hints of romance in it's first volume. The colorful cast of characters includes a genius who lacks motivation, a sheltered bookworm that isn't good at dealing with social events, an inexperience boss, a free spirited temp worker, and a college graduate who's unsure if Civil Service is really for her.It's by no means a masterpiece, but for older readers who've experienced office life it's a fun journey that I would recommend.

This manga was a lot funnier than I thought an office based comedy would be. The characters are very distinct and interesting. They play off of each other really well. I definitely recommend this to older manga fans, especially those tired of high school slice of life comedy.

A good story as expected from the author, great humor.

The story in general is funny and exciting

Though there are some references I don't get (not being Japanese or living in Japan) I really did like this.

Okay, first things first: this is a four panel manga, which means it's not like most other manga! Instead of a cohesive chapter you have a collection of semi-cohesive mini gag comics.If you like that, great! The characters are lovely, the subject matter unusual but relatable, and the humor nicely understated. Personally, though, I could only make it through about 25% of the book before giving up; four panel comics have their place, but I just can't do 200 pages of them at once. Really wish the description had mentioned exactly what sort of manga this is before I purchased it.
