Toasty Perfection
These Choppers are a wonderful value. The wool liners are light duty mittens. I would say they would be ok for above freezing temps. I bought some Dachstein 4-ply for frigid days and they fit nicely under these leather shells. For reference, I have the 8.0 Dachstein inside the XL leather choppers. Plus, I still have room for a thin glove liner for a three-layer system like I use everywhere else on my body. This chopper mitten setup is almost half the price of the Dachstein. I look everywhere for a proper shell but I did not want the tan or gold yellow leather that is everywhere. So happy to have found them. I did condition the leather from the very first day. I am a car-free, 4 season bicycle commuter in Wisconsin and this is the first year my hands are warm. I'm happy. Very happy

These are not built with warmth in mind like choppers should be
These are not built with warmth in mind like choppers should be. They are beautiful and soft, but the liner is not warm (thin knit liner). I consider them choppers for the adult that needs gloves to go from his car to work, but wants to think he's big and tough and wears choppers.

Pretty good mitts
I like these mittens, liner seems to be sufficient so far (weather just turned warm). Leather outer seems thinner than other brands- but if you need to pick up little things that is a plus. Inside of mitt that you pick things up with seems a lot smother (i.e. slipperier) than the coarser backside of the mitt but they seem to work OK for me. Maybe a little pricey but if they keep my hands warm - it is worth it to me so I don't have to keep changing gloves or mittens to keep my finger tips warm (it's tough to get older)

Great mits
The choppers were as expected, although the thumb was a little tight. Memories of the old days with warm hands. I use them blowing snow and driving the school bus before it has a chance to warm up. Would have been 5 stars if the thumb wasn't tight.

A good honest chopper mitten.
I had been wearing gloves while walking here in western Washington, but my fingers were getting cold. I recalled the rugged choppers I wore growing up in northern Minnesota some 50+ years ago, and thought I would try these. While these are not as heavy as those of my childhood (which are doubtless still in use by somebody), they are honest, well made mittens. I am your typical 6 foot guy, I got the XL size, and there is enough room inside where I could add a second liner mitt if necessary. I really like them.

I've never been able to find a small in Thease ...
I've never been able to find a small in Thease at the store so when I seen I could get Thease in a small I was thrilled but when trying them on the lining of the thumb is not correct for a small and makes finger part of mitten way to big. Sure the extra small would be the same. Wish I would have returned but took tag off. Wore once and will never where again because of how they fit.

OK
Thinner than the ones I still have and use which were purchased in 1981 in North Dakota.
