Longkou Vermicelli Noodles (500 gram) (Pack of 1)

My son has loved this kind of noodles, also known as jelly noodles, for a long time. I recently decided to start adding it to my grocery list so he could enjoy it at home, as well as in restaurants. And I researched and found out it is gluten free! It is made of bean and pea starch, which contains no gluten! So that means I can eat it, too.The packages are very large and one makes a large serving bowl of noodles. It is very easy to make. Add to boiling water and boil for 5 minutes or so, until noodles are soft or our favorite: aldente (soft on the outside with a slightly firmer center). Then drain.I did try to cut the dry noodles or break them, so I could make a smaller batch, but I could not cut nor break them. They were hard, yet bendable. (I think wire cutters would work. LOL) But they are so delicious and versatile that my son and I are using up the batch quickly.I made a big pot of coconut chicken and vegie curry and served it with the noodles. I have always served it with a grain such as brown rice or quinoa. The noodles were so delicious with the curry!! They soak up the flavor like sponges! There was enough noodles to have with two meals.Then, we had some, for another meal, with just a few dashes of Tamari sauce, which is an aged, gluten free soy sauce, and some sliced green onions. Delicious! And then I made homemade noodle soup like Ramen (which I can no longer eat because of the gluten and chemicals), by adding boullion and topped with a dash of toasted sesame seed oil and Mrs. Dash. Yummy! Next, I will make egg flower soup by bringing the broth to a boil and stirring in some egg when it begins to boil, then adding the noodles.Ten of these come in this order, so we have a good stock of it in our pantry.Longkou Vermicelli Cellophane Bean Thread Noodles, 17.6 Ounce (Pack of 10)
