These glasses are made for white wine. They are specifically made for Sauvignon Blanc. If you are a white wine drinker, you will love these glasses. Riedel makes the very best quality wine glass I have ever used. Because of their shape and design, these glasses make your wine taste the best. I did not believe that until I tried them for myself. The price was excellent since I paid double that 10 years ago for a set of two. Splurge on these wine glasses!

Sturdy glassware that beautiful and utilitarian.

Most prefer not to admit it but you can serve ordinary wine in a beautiful glass and guests will think it's wonderful. Serve beautiful wine in an ordinary glass and the wine will taste ordinary too. (It works on yourself too. I know you don't believe that :)Durable and sturdy? Not so much. They weren't made to be durable and sturdy. They were made to be beautiful.

Riedel stemware is excellent for its value but somewhat fragile and isn't always dishwasher safe.

Although these are designed specifically for pinot noir, we love the shape and how thin the rims are. We use them for almost all our reds and for rose sparkling too.

We use these for our every day red wines and good whites. They fit in our dishwasher -- required for every day use -- and do fine there. We have broken a few over the years and replaced them with this specially priced package of 4. They hold up well, and we both love Reidel's look and shorter stem . . . . Not a fan for giant tall glasses for wine.

Good value for the money

I purchased ‘used’ open box at a reduced price and had them sent to a different address, as a gift. I was worried about the delivery and presentation but the recipient reported no issues and made a nice gift. The original box was still intact. So maybe I was lucky but have faith, it’s possible to get through mail. As for quality, the brand is my fav, and you should’ve seen the recipients old glasses.

Great design, shape, adds pizzazz to the wine

Great glasses, rotten handling, perhaps they need a layer of bubble wrap???

The glasses themselves are quality; lightweight but reasonably durable considering their delicacy. This is a popular brand well-known for their varietal specific glassware; as my space (and patience) is limited, after some research I chose this specific model as a good all-around glass for common white varietals and medium-bodied reds in a pinch. I used to work in the industry and in spite of this (or perhaps because of it) I decided life is too short to buy six different sets of glasses. I'm happy with the product performance.What I'm not happy with is Amazon's bizarre approach to packing delicate glassware; they just throw the Riedel box in a cardboard shipper with no attempt at isolation or protection, hope for the best and call it a day. One out of eight glasses arrived broken. Simply not worth the trouble to return them and either get them elsewhere or roll the dice to see if the next shipment arrived intact. So I'm eating the cost of one broken glass and cutting my losses; that said I will not be buying glassware from Amazon again.
