By far the greatest IR value today - I own 2
The spot beam capability of the K2 is outstanding. I have one mounted on an NS-520 GEN II night vision scope on a mini 14 that is a dedicated night hog hunting gun. The 2nd is now mounted on a pair of GEN I binoculars which enhance the binocs to a level that actually makes them better than a standalone GEN I device. The built in IR in the binocs is a joke but with the K2 mounted on the top we're seeing hogs and taking them out. Although I don't find it necessary the K2 has thumbscrews that allow you to adjust the angle so that it is perfectly parallel with the device it is mounted on. Uses 123 batteries and I suggest you always carry spares. Doesn't eat batteries but you will come to rely on this device so much - that you'll be sorry you ran out of batteries if you get caught on a moonless night.

Not recommended by me.
For a bit of history, I purchased this item on 7/2/15. (It was not purchased through Amazon.)I only purchased it because it was designed for and mounted perfectly to my D-760 Night Optics scope. Upon receipt, I mounted it to the D-760, made sure everything was working properly and then put the scope/illuminator combo in a Pelican case.I never actually sighted the D-760 so neither the scope nor the illuminator has been subjected to anything harsher than the environment of a Pelican case.I pulled out the combo on 7/3/17 figuring I'd sight it in and have some fun with it on the 4th. Apparently, sitting in the Pelican case for two years was a bit harsh since the IR-K2 is dead. I've tried three different batteries, to no avail. If it can't handle two years in a Pelican case, I hate to think what two years of use would do to it. With a only a one year warranty, it's now a paperweight. It's even past the extended warranty offered by the card I used for the initial purchase.I have a number of Armasight NV products which all work flawlessly. I refuse to spend another $180 for an IR-K2. I will look for an Armasight or another brand of Illuminator that fits or can be customized to fit the D-760.While I can't say the IR-K2 is a bad product, I can certainly say that it was NOT a good purchase for me.

Great addition for any night vision scope
Great addition for any night vision scope. Only illuminates the area your scope sees with little bleed over. Helps to illuminate those hogs hiding under trees in the shade of the stars.
