Works perfectly, but doesn't repeat name/model
Bought this version for a 1080p 120hz monitor since the 1080p version only claims to do 60hz. Never had any problems with it, but the one thing I don't like is that it doesn't pass through the name of the connected monitor - instead it identifies as "Mi TV." It doesn't matter much to me, but if you connected multiple of these to one computer, I'd imagine it would be a little confusing.

Fixed EDID issues with the mClassic and my monitor.
I purchased this EDID emulator in hopes of fixing compatibility problems between the Marseille mClassic and my ViewSonic monitor, and it set them straight.A little background: the Marseille mClassic is a video scaler with post-processing effects for older to modern consoles, and it works rather well. However, Marseille chose to make the device as simple to use as possible, with no user configuration whatsoever. It's strictly plug and play, with the mClassic reading your display device's EDID table to configure and choose its output resolution. Well, I learned from this 'hands off' approach to configuration that not all TV and monitor EDID tables are created equally: my ViewSonic XG3220 monitor, while supporting basically any and every resolution up to 4K, doesn't have a proper EDID table to save its life. So the result was strange and limited functionality of the mClassic, with resolution outputs of 3820x1080 and poor handling of the aspect ratio of the resulting video. However, this little device cleared all of that right up. I connected it in-line to my monitor from the mClassic, and now the device is pumping out a standard 1920x1080p signal that the monitor likes just fine (even from the Retro mode/blue light operation, which was where I had most of the problems before). I'm still not getting the 1440p output the mClassic claims it's capable of handling, in spite of the fact that this EDID emulator supports 1440p in its table and my monitor is able to support that resolution, but I suspect that's the fault of Marseille's little device and not with this EDID emulator. So if you're having similar issues like I described with your mClassic, pick up this adapter and you'll be good to go!

2 monitors with different resolution now work correctly with a matrix switch
I was attempting to use a combination of a 1080 and a 1440 monitor on a 2 output matrix HDMI switch, however the switch (as designed) would mirror the EDID of whatever monitor was plugged into output #1 to all ports. This resulted in different issues depending on which monitor was plugged into which output. Those were:A) When the 1080 monitor was plugged into output 1, my PC would only recognize a max resolution of 1920x1080.B) When the 1440 monitor was plugged into output 1, the 1080 monitor would not display any signal at all as it didn't like the EDID it was being fed, regardless of the input I was attempting to send to it.I bought the 4k version (2 piece) halfway expecting it wouldn't fix my issue. Thankfully after hooking them up to both HDMI outputs on the switch I'm able to use it exactly as I had hoped. I can now select a 2560x1440 resolution on my PC which outputs correctly to my 1440 monitor, and the other inputs that have a 1920x1080 resolution (specifically a Mister FPGA) can be sent to either monitor as desired.Obviously my use case is very specific, but it worked exactly as I was hoping so I'm extremely happy with these. BTW I use headphones with this setup, so all my devices are set to output stereo audio so I cannot comment if surround sound works on these adapters (other reviews seem to indicate it's stereo only).

Compresses the Image from an mClassic going into a 4K Gamer Pro, and removes LPCM 5.1ch Audio.
Not recommended if you use a 4K Gamer Pro. It’ll compress the mClassic’s contextual processing, making the resulting image from the 4K Gamer Pro look jagged. Better to just get an mCable Gaming Edition and an HDMI coupler, and forget about both this and an mClassic, especially if you own a 4K TV that supports 1440p.It’s important to note that I haven’t tried placing this between an mClassic and mCable Gaming Edition, with the mClassic at the beginning of the daisy chain. If I ever get the budget to try it, I’ll update the community on such a setup. Unfortunately, no EDID emulator supports LPCM 5.1ch audio, and I need such audio for my sound bar, so it’s impossible to achieve an ideal setup with one at this time.

It works but...
It works but here's the deal. You need to connect the output to a monitor once so that it can grab whatever settings the PC needs to believe it's a monitor. It will keep this if you restart the PC but in my case if you are using a Dell laptop HDMI dongle if you remove that dongle and plug it back in it won't work until it gets connected to a monitor again. I haven't tested this if I shutdown the laptop but my hunch its once the device loses power it loses whatever data it needs to fool the PC.I'm also a bit sad I bought this so that when my laptop lid is closed I can still view the screen using NDI. I can still see the screen but when the lid is closed it disables all controls. This still happens when I change all of the "when I close my lid" settings so I'm guessing it's just a Dell security "feature"

Not forcing 4k
I bought this as I needed a phone to output 4K via an usb c to hdmi cable for the FilmicPro app to an encoder. The phone is capable of outputting 4k and works fine when used with an actual 4k monitor, but needs a 'trigger' for the setting to work with the encoder.Well, this adapter does not work for this purpose at all, it is NOT recognized as a 4k monitor whatsoever, just the standard 1080. Tried both direction just in case. Nope. Returning it.

Man sollte halt nur grob wissen was man tut. Wählt man eine Auflösung die höher ist als der monitor oder von dessen scaler nicht unterstützt wird gibt's auch kein Bild.
