Midnight Love & the Sexual Healing Sessions

I just bought back this whole doulbe-disc album by Marvin Gaye to replace my cassette version, and I can't wait to get it. This month on April 2nd is Marvin Gaye's birthday, and I decided to buy this album to remember him by, being that he is missed. And even though Marvin is missed, his voice and music still lives on. This album is one of Marvin Gaye's last albums from 1982, and it's still a good album. This album was also Marvin's best work, and I find that he did a good job recording it. There's also another album that was one of Marvin Gaye's last albums and that came out after this album, and it's called "Dream Of A Lifetime," and I don't like that album. This album sounds alot better than that album with Marvin Gaye singing, so I would just stick with listening to this album by Marvin Gaye, and all of his previous motown albums from 1964. This is also an album that I would want to remember Marvin Gaye from, and from all the previous motown albums that came out before this album.I remember back in 1998 when this album was remastered from 1982 with the Sexuel Healing Sessions, and that was when I started to know who Marvin Gaye was. I was 13 years old when this album was remastered in 1998, and then I started to like Marvin Gaye with such a wonderful voice. And along with listening to this whole album, I would also watch a DVD with Marvin Gaye singing live in Belgium from 1981, a concert with Marvin that was filmed a year before this album came out.When this album was remastered in 1998, I read that Marvin Gaye's dad who shot and killed him passed away on October 10, 1998, and this album was remastered and released on November 10, 1998. I think it was a good time for this album to be remastered back in that year and around that time, knowing that Marvin's dad is gone, and that Marvin's music still lives on.It's also known that Marvin Gaye himself passed away on April 1, 1984, shot and killed by his father 2 years after when this album was released. And today his music still lives on with great memories. Even though Marvin lived a troubled life, he was still a great singer. But I still feel that he should have lived a longer life than he did, because he was always about love in his music, and this album shows that. And not only was Marvin Gaye a great singer, but he was also a great person.

This is a little nice collection. You get different versions of Sexual Healing. Each Sexual Healing starts off slightly different, but after that you can't even tell if that there is a difference. The vocals for turn on some music are great. You get that and 2 more versions wewith a beat to it.

Man its sounds great

I never able to buy many albums during the time this came out. I hear it on the radio recently and remembered how powerful this music was and still is. I am still moved by the rhythms and forcefulness of the "no nonsense" collection.

This CD was a great buy! Although it Took about a month to arrive, it came in great packaging, Brand new with no sign of wear and tear to the case. Definitely a collectors item for a Marvin Gaye fan.

Marvin Gaye IS one of the top 3 male soul artists of all time- a true legend. Gaye also managed to cut across into the rock world, being acknowledged as a serious artist of merit by the rock journo's- no mean feat for an African American artist in the 70s. This was his final album released months before his tragic death. The original album is here in all its glory and sounds fantstic. It is complimented by the inclusion of an additional disc of various studio outtakes from the album sessions featuring alternative lyrics/ vocals/ mixes/ acapella and instrumental tracks. It provides a real insight to the development of the various tracks and at times a very intimate experience for the listener as we eavesdrop on the studio sessions. Warning- genius at work!

Excellent album by a brilliant artist
