Barlus Cam for aquarium
I spent a long time researching underwater cameras before deciding on the Barlus Pond Camera, and I’m so glad I did. It’s sturdy, reliable, and does exactly what I hoped for: letting me reconnect with nature by watching the aquatic life in my 70-gallon aquarium, where the camera is mounted inside the tank about 3 feet from the glass.Three years ago, I fell on the ice and severely injured my back, causing nerve damage that made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor activities I used to love, like hiking, skiing, and canoeing. Losing that connection to nature was a hard adjustment, and it started to take a toll on my mental health. After a surgery helped with some of the pain but left new challenges, I began searching for ways to bring the peace of nature into my home—and that’s when I found this camera. The Barlus Pond Camera is designed for aquaculture, ponds, and pools, but it’s been a perfect fit for my aquarium setup. The camera uses fixed focus, so objects up close can appear blurry, but everything farther away looks crisp and detailed. For me, that works beautifully since it captures the wide, open space of my tank and the natural behaviors of my fish.I did struggle with the initial setup, especially getting the camera connected to my router, but when I contacted Barlus technical support, they were incredibly helpful. They guided me through the process step by step, and once it was connected, everything worked seamlessly. Now I can stream live footage to my phone, tablet, and laptop with no lag, and I’m even working on projecting it onto a larger screen in the future. What I love most is how much this camera has changed my daily life. On tough days, when anxiety or pain creeps in, taking just five minutes to watch my tank through the live feed is calming and grounding. It’s given me a way to reconnect with nature that I never thought possible. If you’re looking for a high-quality underwater camera that’s durable, designed for continuous submersion, and performs beautifully in larger setups, I’d highly recommend the Barlus Pond Camera. It’s brought so much joy back into my life, and I’m grateful to have found it.

Great picture and a solid underwater camera.
The media could not be loaded. First of all, this is a quality camera with good construction and a great picture. There is not a lot in the box, but the box is sturdy and you can use it as a carrying case to move and store the camera. It comes with a solid camera and 5 meters of cord which is around 15 feet. There is some discrepancy on the listing it says 1440P in the listing and 4 MP, but in the description it says 1080p and 5MP. if I had to guess its 5MP and 1080P, but regardless the picture is flawless. I did not test it underwater, but inside my house it was as good as or better than any of my indoor or outdoor cameras. It is a little expensive, but its rated IP68, so it should be good from 1 to 5 meters or so. The construction is top notch and the camera has a heavy feel to it. It also comes with sturdy mounting screws. The casing is stainless steel and is fog free and durable. I got this to put in my pool as sort of a cool thing to show people, but this can be used in a variety of means, such as Koi ponds or general observation. The USB drive with the manuals on it are fantastic. It also had videos on how to set it up. My only issue is that I guess because its a Chinese product there is no sound on the video, so you really have to pay attention. I spent some time rewinding it to get it setup up. I wont say setup is really easy, but if you have some LAN and computer knowledge its not difficult.Make sure during setup you click allow network otherwise it wont show you the IP address, also make sure they are plugged into the same network. I have a few networks setup and forgot that. There are several ways to set this up and it includes POE, which if you have a switch that utilizes POE then you don't need the power cord. I do not, but I might get one for this. POE is essentially Power over Ethernet, which turns your Ethernet cord into a power cord as well.Overall this was semi-easy to setup for someone knowledgeable, but I could see this being hard for a computer novice. they do have support. The picture quality was fantastic and its a great camera for your underwater needs.

Great standards compliant high quality underwater ONFIV camera
I'm extremely satisfied with this product. From unboxing the camera to having it functioning in my aquarium via a TP-link N300 into Blue Iris software took me maybe 20 minutes. (I know it's overkill for my little aquarium but I'm into this sort of thing.) It is standards compliant, so Blue Iris recognized it straight away without even using the manufacturer's software to configure it. (I highly recommend Blue Iris to accompany this camera, but any software that works with ONVIF should work.) It worked straight out of the box. Also, I'm amazed at how well it works in low light situations. The attached photo was taken in a dark room with the aquarium hood lights off. I could barely see the fish with my eyes, but the camera captured amazing detail. I eventually would like a Koi pond, and if I do, a couple of these cameras will definitely go in it. If you have a pond, large aquarium, or pool, I highly recommend this camera.

Very poor interface, difficult setup, poor overlay quality
I loved this this camera supported ONVIF and is waterproof and was very excited to purchase it with a Prime Day discount. Unfortunately, the interface feels like it was built 30 years ago and never updated. The software license was not even written in English. I know that many just click and go but you never know what they put in the license when you can't read it. They could say the software is loaded with malware and root kits and you accept that fact.Once I did get it setup, the overlay for the time, date, and camera name were so poor, they were not even readable.I ended up sending this back.
