My dogs go crazy for this stuff and have been buying it for years. My disappointment is that my latest delivery came without the pump!!!I’ll make due but the pump is more convenient.

no more blizzards!
Our older dog, Barney has been having some monster dandruff issues, especially in the winter, for a few years now. We're talking those huge flakes that make you go "holy crap do you have raw spots somewhere because surely you can't lose this much skin and still be whole." But he was completely whole, and somehow the dandruff just kept coming. I truly do not understand how he generated so much of it. Oh, and he has thick black fur so the dandruff was SUPER obvious and more than once I found myself double-checking to make sure it wasn't actually lice (it wasn't). Plus, aside from the aesthetic/cleanliness issues dandruff brings (because he was leaving skin bits EVERYWHERE), that's gotta be super itchy. We tried oatmeal baths and a few other things, but no. Still monster dandruff. But did you notice that the last paragraph was written in the past tense? That's because Barney's dandruff has decreased tremendously! I actually noticed it this morning with a bit of surprise. There are a few lingering flakes, but nowhere near the snowstorm he's had in the past. I feel fairly confident that this oil is the cure for his dandruff.Though I bought this just hoping to cure the older dog's dandruff, we've been using it on both dogs' food. I had no idea they would be so crazy about it. The younger dog, Max, keeps trying to steal Barney's food (after hoovering his own), which is something he hasn't tried in a year and a half. The oil also doesn't seem to have an odor, which is great - I was expecting fishiness from both the oil and our dogs' mouths. The other appeal was that it has Vitamin E in it, as I read where you can cause a Vitamin E deficiency by giving fish oil alone. Yikes.PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT REQUEST: Although I am super pleased with the oil, if I could give the overall product 4.5 stars, I would. This is due to the pump mechanism on the bottle. The thing just doesn't work right. I don't know if it gets clogged up or what, but it's been very frustrating to use after the first couple days of using it. Now, for some reason, after each pump onto the dogs' food, I have to unscrew the top so that the pump will come back up. This gets pretty old when each dog needs three pumps per meal (so 12 total pumps per day). I'm pleased enough with the product inside the bottle to not want to detract a full star, but it seems like there must be a better mechanism that could be used. I will be switching using a measuring spoon rather than using the pump, though I suspect my clumsiness will probably result in some spills. So, in conclusion: Great stuff, do like, will buy again! (But, Beasty Pets, please consider investing in a less-annoying delivery method!)----UPDATE 4/22/2016:We have purchased a couple more bottles since that first one. The second bottle we purchased, the fish oil would sometimes sneak up the straw and out of the spout without anyone pressing the pump (?!) but the third bottle was fine. I am guessing our first one was just a lemon.

I would be happy to give this product 5 stars
I would be happy to give this product 5 stars, my dog loves it. BUT, their packaging is horrible. This is the fourth time I have ordered this and all 4 times. Emphasize the point, aa 4 times I have received this salmon oil it has leaked all over the box. ALL 4 TIMES. Every time the lid is not on tight for one, and two the seal on the inside of the bottle just falls off. EVERY TIME. Good product but order it alone. Everything in the box will stink of salmon oil. Now this time the skin cream for my infant stinks of salmon oil.

Update- 4 dewclaws up!
UPDATE: I have been using this on my dogs for a few months now. This is going to sound like a fake review because it is so positive, but I assure you this is coming from a regular shopper. This stuff has helped my dog so much! My dog had a baldish spot close to his tail, that was bigger than a softball (he is a 13 year old pomeranian mix and the fur on this spot was maybe .25 inches long) The spot had been there for over two years and the vet said it probably would not grow back. He started losing more fur on his back and sides and my vet said he had alopecia. She suggested a few things including a fish oil supplement. I started making homemade dog food and started giving him this. I cannot believe the results he has had. He has no more bald spots and this area he had for more than two years is now at least three inches long. Plus his fur is so full and soft. He looks so great. I would give this 10 stars if I could. It really has been amazing to see.Because of the results and this company's amazing customer service, I will be a customer for as long as they sell this. Just great stuff.Original review:I just got this and few days ago and started right away. My young dog ate it up without food and was hunting for more. The older one wasn't as interested until I put it on his good and he ate it right up. They seem to be tolerating it just fine.I got an email from the company providing some additional information and ensuring I received it, etc. They suggested to start slow and then work up. I didn't do that, but both of my dogs are doing fine with it. It also says cats can ingest it also, which I didn't realize. I will have to start my cat on it. The email also says to refrigerate for best results. Just an FYI.5 stars for the dogs liking the taste, the packaging and customer service. I will update my review if anything changes.

On the fence
I'm new to using fish oil so I have nothing to compare it to. That said, it's been a few weeks since our dogs started using this. Both dogs don't notice the taste when mixed into their food. One of our dogs has gotten mild relief from her seasonal allergies but the other dog hasn't gotten any help at all. We ended up switching to Claritan so he could get some relief. I was really hoping it would work instead of having to give them medicine.

Cure for our dog's dandruff
When we adopted our dog, he had a bad case of dandruff. Someone at the pet store suggested we use a squirt of salmon oil in his food twice a day and the dandruff has disappeared. His coat is also beautiful and shiny. Our son and daughter-in-law sometimes leave their dog with us and she can be a picky eater and doesn't eat her food all at once. the problem is, our dog then will finish her food for her because it gets left behind. Now, when we give her food a squirt of the salmon oil, she finishes it in one swoop because she loves the flavor of the oil. I'm sure it's helping her coat as well. We have been using this oil for a year now and would never be without it.

Leakage is gross
I guess it helps, but my main problem with this stuff is LEAKING. There is oil all over my cabinet shelf. I have to place the bottle in a bowl or else it sits in a puddle of oil. I will buy fish oil in a capsule from now on.
