Fresh, smells wonderful!
Found via a "deal" site. Was hesitant at first due to the review complaining of mold. Must have been a one-off cause my pack arrived fresh, well sealed, smelling like heaven! Expiration date is nearly two years away, not a hint of mold.Looking forward to purchasing more so I can make a new batch of extract with my little one. Gonna try rum this time. Highly recommend these beans!

The product was not sealed.
When I receive the item it was no longer vacuum sealed. I hope it is still good.

Kind of a disappointment
I know these were grade B, but many of the beans were so dry, I snapped them up. The caviar was scant and the beans that did have moisture were small, very small. Not sure I will purchase this brand again, but will wait to see how my vanilla turns out in 6 wks.

Very nice
Ordered the 25 pack. Very nice feel to them, felt nice & fresh. Bag was vaccume packed with exipre date. I've never used vanilla beans before but really wanted to make my own extract as I go through so much. LOADS of vanilla came out of each pod and smell amazing. The pics I have uploaded is only vanilla from half of one pod! Also used a few to make some vanilla sugar & have plenty of pods left and have saved in an air tight jar.

Mouldy and small
I bought two packs of vanilla pods to make some pints of vanilla extract. The calculations of how many each pint would need from the packs was based upon the weight given. They arrived, with one pack seeming fine and the other showing clear signs of mould on a couple of them. In getting an idea of how to distribute the weight evenly, since some were naturally bigger than others, I discovered that the weight given includes the weight of the plastic, which didn't even including that reach 60g all in all. This surprised me because almost everything I'd looked at clearly stated that more than 10 vanilla pods are sold by overall pod weight because of their inconsistent sizes and individual weights. I had assumed they picked 25 pods that most closely matched up to 60g since no other weight is given.I bought another pack since the previous ones already ensured the pods would need to sit in the alcohol for a year, and that too had a number of them with mould. I would say around 1/3 to 1/2 of each pack was filled with some combo of very short, very thin, dry pods. Most places recommend about 10-11 pods per pint of alcohol to make extract, you're likely to need 15-16 from this pack to meet that same weight, and also would have to commit to letting the pods sit there for a year or more to have a chance of getting the same flavour a more expensive and higher quality bunch might give. The only reason this doesn't merit it a 1 star is because, wondering if I'd been cheated of my money for a weight it hadn't been, I looked up the cost of vanilla pods in 2022 per kg and discovered that the cost of these pods (had they been 60g) was about 80% of the lowest estimated cost (it's currently on sale, but has also been on sale every time I've bought it). All in all the cost only makes sense if the pod weight is about 48-50g and given that a profit needs to be made you're likely looking at closer to 45g of low quality pods to get the actual bang for your buck.Despite that, I only gave this 3 stars for value for money because all that doesn't change the fact that a number had mould on them, and in my opinion many of the pods were still lower quality than even the cheap cost calls for. Even though home-made vanilla extract doesn't call for high quality beans, I still would recommend something a level higher than this.

Decent-sized Grade B Vanilla Beans
These beans were my very first vanilla bean purchase, and I decided to buy beans because the price of prepared vanilla extract has gone up drastically since I last bought a bottle.Making vanilla extract is about a simple a recipe as one will ever have in the kitchen (besides boiling water for tea), so I decided to give it a try.The beans are Grade B, being slightly more dehydrated than Grade A, and are thus more well-suited to extraction than a Grade A bean. (Grading doesn't imply lower quality, just lower hydration.)All the beans in my package were uniform and free of defects, and the vacuum seal was intact on arrival. When I sliced into the bag, the vanilla fragrance was intense and pleasant, and last for hours on my fingertips.NOTE ON EXTRACT RECIPE: While the supplier offers a recipe for making vanilla extract that uses a ratio of 6 beans per 1 cup (8 fl. oz. or 237 ml) of vodka (minimum of 35% APV or 70 proof), I found a recipe from the test kitchens of Cook's Illustrated magazine that uses far fewer beans for the same quantity: 1 bean in ¾ cup (6 fl. oz. or 177 ml) of 80-proof (40% APV) vodka. In addition, the Cook's Illustrated instructions include heating the vodka nearly to boiling in a saucepan (carefully, to avoid ignition of the alcohol vapour), then pouring the hot vodka into the container holding the beans. I imagine that using hot vodka amplifies the extraction process, so that far fewer beans are needed per batch.Reviews for the Cook's Illustrated recipe say that it out-performed commercial vanilla extracts. I suppose I'll know after about four more weeks of patient waiting.

Perfect for great vanilla essence
Had my 25 vanilla pods steeping in 95% alcohol for several weeks now, deep colour, strong scent. Will be excellent by Xmas - makes great presents. Still using last year's (vodka based) essence, which used Class A pods - and is really nice & still improving after 12 months! - but can already tell that these new pods are making a better extract.Highly recommended.
