Great book for parenting basics.
Great information for those with limited experience with young children.

Not-so-clear answers
It's good. It's funny. It makes you feel like your kid is normal and helps you not go insane. But I find it very disorganized. It is page after page after page of little boxes, quotes, anecdotes, and occassionally advice - grouped in topics that seem to have little to do with what is in the boxes. Sometimes a story isn't resolved - like, "this wasn't the best approach, but more on that later." And you're left wondering what the parent should have done, and where is later and how can I find it, because by the time they address the question, I will have forgotten the story. Also, I find all the little pieces make it less readable - which could be good or bad - I read a couple boxes at a time, put it down, pick it up again later. It's going to take forever to get through at this rate. Maybe that's the strategy - by the time you finish this book, your kid will be in Kindergarten and you won't need it anymore. Problem solved.

Easy Reference!
I had bought "Baby 411" when I was pregnant as I was looking for a nice reference type book and immediately fell in love with it. It is very easy to look up something that is on your mind during those middle of the night feedings. I definitely recommend "Baby 411" to all new parents and suggest they pack it in their hospital bag as reading material after their baby is born. It has a nice chapter on Breastfeeding and actually abide by the American Academy of Pediatrics's Guidelines. They also cover the top 5 challenges women/newborns can encounter while learning to breastfeed and who to turn to for help. I also like the witty type humor the authors have and how they cover questions new parents might feel silly about asking their pediatrician like "Is it normal that my newborn babies poo looks like Grey Poupon?"Anyway, on to "Toddler 411"... I like "Toddler 411" just as much as "Baby 411". It is once again a great reference type guide that is easy to use and covers topics like Vaccines, Teething, Sleep Habits and Potty Training. Great Book! If you don't want to skim pages upon pages of material just to find the answer you are looking for, this is the book for you! If you don't have "Baby 411" and you are planning to have more kids, buy that too as I'm sure it will come in handy even the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time around.

Great Book
I've given the book only 4 stars as I haven't read it in its entirety yet, however I am very impressed so far after spending about 2 hours perusing and casually reading parts of the book. We have a 15 month old little boy and I had yet to purchase any toddler books after our "first 12 month" books ran their course. I was searching various books on Amazon and bought this, in addition to a couple others, based on the stellar reviews. I was not disappointed -- this is the best one I purchased so far. It's easy to follow and I like the way the chapters are laid out. The "what to expect" books had historically kind of stressed me out (both the pregnancy and the 1st year). While the "what to expect" for the toddler years is ok (based on a similar 1 1/2 hour perusal), I find that this one is superior. I agree with what one of the other reviewers said about this book being organized far better. I may come back out and upgrade to a 5 star review once I am further through the book. You won't be disappointed with this book!

BUY THIS BOOK! IT'S A MANUAL FOR TODDLERS!!
I am in love with this book!! It's exactly what I've been looking for and I needed this for a long time!! I'm the kind of person who needs someone to say "okay, do this with your kid and he'll listen" or do this and that. I'm not good at taking initiative , so this book is awesome. I think it covers EVERY SINGLE question any mother would ever have. It relates to us in too many ways, I'm like "okay, why can I relate to all of these questions??" Something is wrong if I can relate to everything in here haha. It covers everything from "is this normal?" to bedtime struggles, to tantrums, to eating issues, to hygiene etc. I can't believe that there is a book that answers all my questions and this book doesn't sugar coat anything. It get's right to the point. I refer to it all the time and everytime I do I wonder "why haven't I been reading this daily?" It's great when your child is going through phases and you have no idea what to do. But this book gives you the tools to handle any phase, problem, and question. I would HIGHLY recommend it to any parent whether or not you're struggling in any area of the toddler stage. They say kids don't come with instructions, well now they do! Get this book!!

very practical advice and useable advice
funny but true, entertaining to read, but most importantly also very practical and useful information and advice from a trusted expert/pediatrician.one of the many things that made me LOL (and i'm paraphrasing here): if you haven't figured this out yet, toddler cuisine = beige foods...chicken nuggets, cheerios, tator tots, gold fish, etc.but also a great book practically speaking. for all of us out there who don't know what to do when our toddler throws a tantrum, won't sleep on their own, etc.

Short and Sweet
I am halfway through this book and I have to say, it's a great book. I bought it because of the poor reviews for What To Expect - The Toddler Years and I am not disappointed. Each chapter is short and to the point. Even though every child is unique and everything in the book will not apply to your toddler, I feel like I get at least one positive learning from each chapter. Sometimes more. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is it really seems to cater to the autism fear. So far, almost every chapter has an autism warning or symptom to watch for. I'm not sure if this is helping to alleviate the public fear, or fueling the fire. It may be that they are just responding to the top frequently asked questions by parents and those happen to be about autism. But, overall this book has great information about things parents with toddlers want to know and information about things we never even though of. I would recommend to a friend.

Learn more about your 2-year old
This book has some good advice how to handle a child in his "terrible twos". It also has good humor and often if you feel that no advice is good and nothing can help, then the book at least tells you that it will get better when they turn 18.
