I bought this because my little pup LOVES cold water. He'll actually whine to go outside when all he wants is to get a drink from the water bowl outside (which being winter is always cold), when it'd be so much easier to have the much cleaner bowl inside. I used to put ice in there to cool it off but he'd take the ice cube and run off in the house and then dump it to leave a nice puddle surprise for me. This frosty core is a good solution, i am impressed with how long it keeps the water cold. I just use mine inside in the laundry room where his water and food are and it will keep the water cool for much longer than the 14 hours. It's even cool at about 24 hours later - maybe not as cold as during the first 12 hours, but still noticeably colder than room temp water. My pup loves it. The only complaint i have is that the water bowl is kind of heavy and less fun to fill than regular water bowls, but I don't think there is really a way to fix that and still have the frosty core component.

Not sure why this core does not have the hole in the center and bottom like the original one I received with the bowl?? They work find, but look different. Keeps the water for my cats cold/cool all day. I don't change it until I get up in the morning.

This works well. I purchased it last summer because my older cat was restricted to canned food. He's a nibbler and I was worried about leaving his food sitting out all day. I use it with the shorter 14 oz. FrostyBowl that is recommended for cats and small dogs. The first time I froze it, I set it upright in the freezer. It bulged out at the bottom and did not fit into the stainless steel bowl correctly. Now I always am careful to freeze it upside down on flat shelf. That has completely solved the problem.

Free feeding raw food - yes it's possible with the FrostyBowlz system. I change these cores 2-3x/day depending on the weather. They stay cold much longer than would regular ice packs. It helps to put a styrofoam block under the bowl. I found that it is very important to freeze the cores flat and not upside down or sideways, or you get gel leaking out the bottom.

The cats love this. We bought two and swap them out in the evening and in the morning. So one is under the bowl and one is in the freezer at all times. Yes, our pets are pampered. I'd rather they drink out of this cold water than the toilet, though!

This is a great product for dogs that like to drink their water cold. I have the whole set up with the tray and bowl etc, but found that it was better to have a spare core so that there is always one in the freezer to swap out. :)

Second one to keep rotating with the other one. A must have to keep the water cold 24/7.

High quality ice pack for the FrostyBowlz chilled pet bowl. It retains the cold temperature for long hours (I didn't time it), but was cold for the entire day. I bought an extra one to rotate cores every other day to make sure it was completely frozen.
